Does anybody have an idea of what kind of seniority LAP aka Happy Land will have? I'm thinking of jumping ship at KTP and try my luck "over there".
I've got a bid job but I will NEVER get day shift at KTP. Any suggestion or comments will be read and have no bearing on my decision...ha ha

I believe it to be close to the same at both plants or worse at LAP at this point. Things will settle down seniority wise when the 3rd shift opens up over there.

According to the Local Contract that we havent voted on yet. Doesnt it say that if you transfer from KTP to LAP that you dont bring your seniority and that you start you seniority there the first day. Also that becomes your home plant. But we take the voluntary layoff that were only suppose to be temporary and now they can stay and have all there seniority. Steve Stone knows how to stick to us here at KTP..

I think we get to keep our seniority when we transfer, I'm just wondering if we'll have to go through a grace period before we can bid on jobs. LAP people sure didn't when they came over to us. I'm just trying to get a seniority list. I realize this might be asking a bit much. I asked for a list of people that had a relief job in paint so I could see where I would land If I got the bid, my response? the last one had '95 seniority, you don't have to worry about it you won't get the bid anyway....If you want a bid job, try and ask for a seniority list of people that have that same job and see what kinda respnonse you get

If you transfered to LAP under the OLD contract from KTP, do you still have RTBU rights to KTP ?? Just wondering if we still had a choice of Home plant or if that was made for you already ? Hey Steelhorse, I would say there is NO grace periods for bids, because transfers from other plants are getting bid jobs before they arrive....

In my orientation class they told us As of then you needed 95 seniority to hold days but that could change.

If you leave KTP, you can never ever never return.

If you leave KTP, you can never ever never return. Not true. If LAP goes south and everybody gets laid off, then are offered jobs out of zone, then they can bump low seniority employee in that zone.

LAP and KTP are not going South.. Think positive!!!

Is KTP being asked if they want to go to LAP or have they already been asked?

Up to 150 ppl from KTP will be transferring to LAP...no more. If you are from LAP and transfer to LAP, you give up all rights to return to KTP. If you are at KTP and have never been to LAP and transfer to LAP, I believe you give up your rights to KTP...LAP will be your new home plant. I'm pretty sure under the new international contract, if you transfer, you lose your rights to your home plant?

With all the transfers and more coming, a seniority list at LAP would only be good for that day. There won't be a definite seniority list until the end of March is my guess.

Scott, thats what I've been told. They don't have a seniority list avalible yet. Getting my hands on one when it does become avalible is a different story

They do have a master seniority list on the wall in labor......I looked at it on friday of last week. If I remember correctly, january of 1995 hire-in placed at around 1250 on the master list out of all employees presently on the roll.... hope this helps..... but don't know anything about a list exclusive to those in paint.....

The way it works is, if you are laid off at lap and are offered a job out of zone, you can roll the lowest seniority person at ktp and force that person to take the out of zone position....

Modified7, was that list your talking about at KTP? I can get my hands on a list of people at ktp. It's LAP list I'm wanting. Probably have to wait until late march

you have to be forced. I tried to bump lower people to chicago and they told me I wasnt being forced to chicago. I said i feel like i am. It was a voluntary move. There where lower people at ktp and I had to go to chicago. I dont think ford has ever or will ever force anyone. This is just in there to make you feel good like ohhh if i have to I can bump someone but it will probably never happen.

94 seniority and you lose your rtbu if you sign up to go to ktp or lap.

LAP still has around 400 people coming from Indy from what I am told. Trying to get a seniority list but one is not available at this moment. With all the moving in this seems to change daily so be patient and we should have one soon.

It was explained to me last night that if only 12 ppl currently at LAP sign up to transfer that only 12 of those signed up at KTP will get to go...which is sad. I have to assume there are well over 150 at KTP that would like to transfer to Happy Land. If you are at LAP, stay there...believe me.

Scott, your correct. It is a one for one move. We can have 200 sign up but whatever that number is over at LAP to come back here is the number that will go.

I hope 150 at LAP sign up for my co-workers sake, but I don't see it.

Shame, I took a transfer almost 4 years ago, cut 45 miles off my drive round trip. That alone made it more than worth it, good luck if you're on the list.

As of what we had coming into lap the last week I worked, you would have to have 96 seniority to hold dayshift. This is with alot of high seniority people wanting nights, if we were placed by seniority to the date, to hold dayshift would be alot worse.

Ok, Scotts answers are correct excpet maybe the signup ist. Not sure why they would be doing oen now, it isn't ven voted in and wont be doing it til summertime.
Also, you do not lose your seniority you just have no seniority rights to the plant you left you cary your full sen. to the plant you transfer to.
Also if you are at KTP or LAP and have RTBU rights as of today. This will not change your rights this only affects the people who transfer under this agreement.

Hey Kessinger, So if you transfered to LAP 4 years ago from KTP, under the old contract that you still have RTBU rights to come back to KTP and call them your HOME plant Just wondering....
