"This job isn't working out for me, can I try a different job."
"I thought we got an hour for lunch"
"I gotta go home again, its another emergency".
"This must be the hardest job in the plant" (response from senior employee "Dude, this isn't even the hardest job on the team......")

This brand new guy, midway into training starts asking about changing shifts to get a better job....lol. trim is trim, that's all I can say,!! If you have 98 or worse time, your either a slave to Dayshift in trim, or you can get a bid on nights.....

I have no idea if this is true or not, but more than one have said they were told they'd get a chance to try different jobs...........
No, this is your job, learn it, do it.
Who could be telling them that, union guys who haven't worked on the line in 15 years, or company people who have no idea?

"My uncle has been here 19 years. He told me after I get hired full-time, to go to medical. Tell them my back hurts and I'll never have a job this hard again."
No bullshit. Actual matter-of-fact statement.

Actual matter-of-fact statement. And it is people like this that make it difficult if not impossible for people who have legitimate injuries. If you are hurt you are hurt but if you just don't want to work then do us all a favor and leave.

I like how the new hires bitch about not making as much as us "legacy" workers, but flip out every chance they get.

The "Two Tier" vrs "Legacy" bullshit is the SINGLE WORST THING to ever happen to us. I'd give up any raise the next contract to get rid of that bullshit, and give them a path towards full pay. I can't imagine anything worse for a union shop floor than two different wages..............TERRIBLE!

I can't imagine anything worse for a union shop floor than two different wages..............TERRIBLE! Best post yet. Everyone here had questions when they hired in that old timers scoffed at. But the reality is, the new hires were our union brothers/ sisters as soon as they took their oath. Everyone better stand with them now. The secret is - they will be the ones voting on your retirement in the coming contracts. I do not want my retirement to disappear solely because I did not have my brothers back now.

I've got anyone's back thats got mine period. The way I see it is They will always vote for a good contract for retirees.Thats the ONLY way they move up the pay scale.Lets be serious all the transfers with 89 or better seniority plus all the 93 ,94,95 ,98 ,99 hires I would say they're out numbered in any vote.I hope we all get raises next contract or they do away with 2tuer but you know that's not happening .I hope I get a buyout and one of them gets to move up the ladder. If not I want a long overdue raise!!! Just my opinion though.Another thing is if I had a family member that was on the lower pay scale I would be on here griping about their pay but I don't so I wanna look out for the people I've known for 19 yrs.The ones that work their asses off for the same wages we did back in 05! Now that's pitaful .

They could move up, but not all the way up , ever, by accepting a buy down for us legacies. Something like a $5 raise for them along with a lump sum Payment and $5 cut for us. U know how much some people love the lump sum payments.Remember u heard it here first!!!

The other night a new hire thought he was getting fired after lunch. He decided not to wait and see. He went running down the chassis line hitting e-stops all down the line. He didn't hit the ones in fuel fill though. So people just turned the line back on. Lol had he known which ones to hit we woulda had some serious ass time lol

Don't have 90 days in, but have already left early. And don't get me started about missing stuff.........

"entry level" employee here, its really hard to hear people who make $12 more an hour and will have pension and health insurance talk about how they haven't had a raise in 10 years. I'm not saying it's right, but hard to get us on your side. The way many entry levels see it is our pay and benefits were cut before we ever even had a chance.

Are you making a higher wage than you were 11 yrs ago now? I'm not. If you don't get a raise in 12 yrs will you be happy? I'm betting it's a no.
