Question from KCAP. The story we have got is that the vote was cast via show of hands with no role call. But, we were assured that everyone of our delegates voted "NO". But, without a list of who voted what. Nobody will ever know for sure. Just wondering if you guys are getting the same story? Yes, the news report I read the stated that the verbal vote was too close to call, so they raised hands for "yea" or "nay". Absolutely no accountability to the membership.

What's all this "bet" talk... "I bet this or I bet that"?? Why hammer your Union brother/sister? It's Ford and the Corporate world that affects everything $$ in our world..

To all those posting here. Please read the news articles about this. I would link, but it's hard from my phone. The delegates wouldn't even agree to a roll call vote. Meaning that they did not want to be held accountable for their yes votes. We should all be outraged, we should all demand better from those that WE PAY to represent us. They chose to hide from us, and vote yes. Cowards..... On our dime.

Dues haven't been raised since 1967... In 1914 Henry Ford raised wages to a record amount. $5 for a nine hour work day up from $2.38 The UAW was founded in 1938 Currently our wages and benefits have been reduced under the UAW representation and they just raised our dues? Smooth move and look for many to opt out given the means to do so. I have FAR less trust in the UAW than the company at this point in time.

You can read on the Autoworkers Facebook page that a delegate from Kentucky had a petition where 554 employees signed opposing the dues increase.

Alright, first my apologies to Ktpelec for my comments yesterday. We go at it sometimes and I know my temper gets the better of me. So next up, if this is true about the vote being done anonymously then the vote (By LAW?) should not count! If they have no proof of names or numbers then that is BS plain and simple. I'm sure Todd Dunn wont have the balls to call and question this either.

I don't think it would matter if all of the UAW members from 862 signed a petition at this point and time. This crooked organization will only get worse. Its no longer your daddys union, its no ones union. Its now the "Thugs UAW".

Our UAW just needs to cut back!!! The UAW is required each year to file a document called an "LM-2" which reports the union's most recent financial flow. www.densondr.com/dmmi/uaw-lm2-2013.pdfA chunk of the money is paying top UAW salaries and costly operating expenses. The UAW paid more than $43 million for the combined salaries and expenses of its officers and employees and another $40 million in employee benefits. In 2013, the UAW International LM-2 Report stated that the union collected over $214 million in cash receipts. Even with that amount of money coming in, the UAW still somehow managed to pay out $213 million - 99.9% of what the Union collected. I like #64 (LM-2 Report) Spending: On Behalf of Individual Members ..................$0 ...lol

Looks like someone needs a lesson in budgeting. I have one question. Who votes on this? Its a socialist Ponzi scheme. We vote for people to vote for us, in our best interest and trust that they can go to Vegas (on our union dues dime) stay sober, and vote how they promised. I think hookers and marijuana are paid for by them, not us.

Here's and idea: Stop giving your money to V-CAP. This will make up the difference in dues increase and also send strong message on our opposition to the increase

But, without a list of who voted what. Nobody will ever know for sure. Just wondering if you guys are getting the same story? So they have a show of hands vote instead of having the stones to put a name with the vote yet im hearing they are about to publish a list of "freeloaders" in the RTW states that have signed up to refuse to pay union dues. Few unions have begun this already so im sure its coming from the UAW as well. This machine has gotten too big & the international Ponzi scheme finances where they take from us & vote themselves raises & bonuses is coming to a head. Not sure what the answer is or how to right this ship but something has to be done. Contract time wont change anything, if we vote the garbage down they can over ride out vote & accept it on our behalf...dont believe me?? UPS guy overwhelmingly voted their contract down only to have the teamsters over ride the vote and accept the contract anyway. And you thought the UAW had a racket going!

The UAW is no longer here to help you. They are here to help themselves to your union dues and spend them how ever they want. When Michigan becomes a RTWS I'm hoping the members up there vote to dump the UAW. This will be the wake up call we need. Get rid of the IUAW and start our own from scratch.

With all the "betting" talk, I'll bet I'll hear a shitstorm on this. So the strike fund(which should have never been raided) needs replenished and the quickest way to do that is....raise dues. I didn't hear anyone have any other ideas on how to replenish the strike fund, and that's part of the reason this increase passed. I'm not saying anything bad about our local leadership by any stretch of the imagination, but "now is not the time" isn't going to put much needed money in the coffers. If you want a raise and a better contract then a sizable strike fund will help us get that. Fighting a dues increase that is going to the strike fund, while saying I want a raise, while the union is saying we need a bigger strike fund to get you a raise is the most circular and self destructing logic I've ever heard in my life. Also, show some solidarity for gods sake, you say fuck the UAW talking about the international, but you're also saying fuck all of my brothers and sisters in the union. Getting pissed off and saying fuck the union at this time is the absolute worst thing you can do.

hey what did you give up when ford almost went under?...just curious I forgot I'm an entry level and only been here a few months so you can just disregard everything I say right? Never mind I was tier 2 for 4 years for the UAW at Cat(who btw broke the living fuck out of us thanks in no small part to all of the scabs who said fuck it and crossed the goddamn picket line) and God forbid I want to see something so obscene as solidarity so you can get a raise. You are so focused on what you have lost you don't see anything that you still have. You still have a pension, you make more than what you could without a college degree or skilled trade, and you get to leave after 30 years. It might not be what it was, but its better than most, thanks by the way to the UAW. You want to get pissed off why not be pissed that now the company is doing better they don't give you a raise? Everyone is so mad the union didn't get them a raise(like its a magical raise machine where you put your money in and it gives you more back without any input or action on your part), but I sure as fuck don't see Ford running up to you to give you a raise either. You gave Ford concessions when it needed it and you didn't get them back when things are better, oh get pissed off at the UAW because they didn't get them back, papa Ford would take better care of us, its that mean old UAW keeping us from getting raises NOT THE GODDAMNED FORTUNE 100 COMPANY WHOSE SOLE EXISTENCE IS TO MAKE AS BIG A PROFIT AS IT POSSIBLY FUCKING CAN. Hope that clears it up, also if I wanted to say what I gave up I could end up with me making the point that one thing that was given up was fucking wage parity. I make a helluva lot less than you with less benefits and a 401(k) and I'm not blaming the union for shit.

For starts how about taking back the raises that international gave themselves, how about doing something about the international retirees double dipping. There are so many ways that UAW international could at least share the pain. But they simply can't grasp the fact there wouldn't even be an UAW without us!

Also if you don't like it here you can just quit also, but then you lose that pay(you know that was bargained in the contract and that pension). Good luck finding a better paying job.
