THERE WILL NOT BE A JULY MEMBERSHIP MEETING
Vacation Shutdown: Consistent with Article IX, Section 25 (b) of the Collective
Bargaining Agreement, the Company has informed the Bargaining Committee of the
vacation shutdown for the Louisville Assembly Plant. Shutdown is confirmed the
week of June 30, 2014. Skilled Trades employees will be expected to work during
the shutdown period. A-Crew’s last day of work is June 26th with a return to
work date of July 7th. B-Crew’s last day of work is June 27th with a return to
work date of July 8th. C-Crew’s last day of work is Saturday June 28th with a
return to work date of July 7th. Employees scheduled to work during the shutdown
period will be notified by their Process Coach and will be given vacation time
off from the job through the normal vacation scheduling process during times
other than the shutdown period.

SHUTDOWN ITEMS:
Make sure your password is current and not getting ready to expire before you
leave for shutdown. Call extension 4357 (HELP) from inside the plant if you
have any problems.
Labor Relations will be closed during shutdown and will reopen with normal
hours on Monday July 7.
If you encounter a bereavement need during shutdown, bring your documentation
to HR once the plant resumes operation. The appropriate vacation time will be
credited back to your pay for future use.
Check your work area out when you get back to work after shutdown. Check your
guns, balancers, hoists, stock, etc for changes, damage during downtime, proper
operation, etc. If anything looks out of the ordinary, looks wrong, or
doesn’t work right, notify your Process Coach ASAP.
July 4th Holiday Pay will be automatically converted to excused time unless you
are working. However, if you choose to be paid for the holiday and are
claiming unemployment benefits, you must report those wages. Sample
Calculation: (i.e $15.78 (your hourly rate) per hour times 8 hours = $126.24)
for Crews A & B and C Crew should be calculated at 10 hours. Employees with
less than 90 days do not qualify for holiday pay.
The Medical department will be open daily June 30th to July 6th, from 6am to
3am.
ELECTRONIC BIDS: The electronic bid process will be starting soon. Please make
sure you have CDS ID and updated your password so you can log onto the system
and bid. You will not be able to bid if you do not have both. Update your info
at the nearest computer or in Labor Relations. It’s a two part process that
starts by calling ext. 4357 from any plant phone and takes about five minutes.
HERITAGE HILLS GOLF CLUB - Located at 1040 Valley View Rd, Shepherdsville, KY
40165 in Bullitt County (502) 531-0606 HHGC is offering all active and retired
members, as well as other Ford employees, a $10 discount on normal green fees
when they show their Union ID card, Ford ID card, or retiree card.
Joy in the Workplace: The UAW Local 862 Joint Chaplaincy Committee is
requesting your presence at their “Joy in the Workplace” non-denominational
bible studies course held every Sunday from 2:00pm-4:00pm at the LAP Union Hall.
This is a pilot program that will focus around joy, love, harmony, unity,
friendship, work ethics, and dignity in our lives. All Local 862 Members are
encouraged to attend. B.Y.O.B. - Bring your own Bible.
William c. ford, jr scholarship: The William Clay Ford, Jr. Scholarship Program
offers $1,500 scholarships to children of U.S. Ford employees. In order to
qualify, students must be classified undergraduate sophomores for the 2014 Fall
term. Details about the program are provided online at HR ONLINE (under
