I like overtime just like most others, I come in almost every Wednesday and thursday for overtime, but still take my breaks in the break room. Working through break makes for a long day.

Well, it looks like only a select few from C-crew will be working Sunday. Although I did hear a rumor that A-crew was going to work Sunday just to wrap up whatever cars are on the line in plastic. I don't know how true it is, but like any rumors that I hear, I take it with a grain of salt. I did receive a call from Ford (313-322-3000) yesterday about 11:15 am but no message. If I have to work Sunday, then so be it.

It amazes me that people on here "union brothers and sisters" take the company stance. If I were as obviously well off as the detractors who down us for trying to better our checks for about $350 more a week for working through 4 days of breaks then maybe I wouldn't work. Its no wonder our union has gotten non-existent, when the company screws us all people can is do is attack the ones getting screwed. I've not read on here about how wrong the company is when they said we would be off then less than a week before shutdown they tell us now that you "have" to work. And as usual the union has not stepped up . They have no problem making us pay more dues and still they do nothing. I bet they will be surprised when right to work is passed and so many opt to leave the union since we cannot count on them for anything. Thanks U.A.W. for all you don't do, which is alot.

It's not that we are so well off we don't need the money....but if they need that many units bring in more people instead of being a company toadie working for a few extra pennies. When you open the screw me over repeatedly door don't complain when they do exactly that. Hell I make the same money as you..no more no less...but I don't need to run myself in the ground for chump change(Ford does a good job of that) maybe you need to check your finances for priorities no offence but it sounds like your over extended if you gotta do that to yourself. Hell when you go down that route Ford figures whats a little more screwing when you are already doing it to yourself.

Thats my point saugerman, This whole break thing that is going on & on & on has nothing to do with us getting screwed this Sun. If nobody ever worked breaks we would still get screwed!

Let me phrase it this way and maybe you will get what I'm trying to say
When you work your breaks the scheduler thinks we dont need to put in the needed work ahead of time people will be greedy and volunteer for it. If nobody would work their breaks the schedule would of been adjusted ahead of time and you would't be where your at now(unless it's a ungodly breakdown). It's a slippery slope I can't fault anyone for wanting to better themselves but sometimes the price is too damn high. Have Ford make the adjustment don't help them do it.

4 days of working thru breaks isnt even close to $350. If you work thru lunch too you will net 6 hours a week. Even at time & a half at full pay you "gross" 252. With taxes you might get $150

Take a walk up to the shop & pe-delivery on any shift, there is shit piled up everywhere whether we work break or not and not everyone works their breaks up here. This has NOTHING to do with this Sunday screwing! The reason we are working is to clear out as much inventory as they can by the end of the this quarter and trust me there will still be plenty of jobs around after Sun.

And for the ones now that won't do it there are ten more that will.

Overtime? Have you been looking at the schedule or other post? 12 hrs mandatory, now we've only been working 11.5 and everyone up here on all shifts are getting overtime working 6 to 7 days a week if they want to. IT DOES NOT MATTER!

Fucking American flag flying out front, you dont "have" to work if you dont want to. They can tell you that you "have" to work all they want. They wont fire you for not showing up, take the R&W and the next time the boss ask you to suck ass during your break tell him if he tosses your R&W you will. Thats how the giant size suckasses handle things. Fuck Sunday, go on vacation, beleive me any1 that sells every fucking break & lunch he takea must need one. Man up & quit worrying about every thing they tell you that you "have" to do. Fuck

I love that sugarman knows my finances. I don't have to work the overtime through my breaks. I am lucky to have a good job in the shop so working through breaks and lunch is'nt a big deal to me so I do it cause more money is better than less. I really don't believe many in the shop have to work they want to. If I were on the line I wouldn't work. Still to the point no one addressed . We were told by Ford no work Sunday then less than a week before shutdown told us we do. That is the point no other. And lap65 I do bring home $350 a week more as I stated before we get 13.2 hours a day which does include 11.5 a day mandatory I didn't include that in my previous post

I'm done everyone on here just wants to argue no one can even acknowledge The fact that we were told one thing then they reverse it that is the only issue not who sucks up or not ,not who makes how much money, not who works through breaks, not if ones finances are out of whack. Plain and simple told one thing then reneged. that's it no more no less.

Lol. If I worked in the shop & could get an extrs 350 I probably would to. The thing about sunday is & I dont know when c crews vacation officially starts but a crews is monday. Every one takes for grsnted that you get the weekend and we usually do, but it has & does happen, not much the union can really do since our vacation week doesn't officially start til Monday. Have a great vacation.

FUCK!!! LOL...Just so everyone knows I am laying out Sunday and I don't give a shit about my 4th of July holiday, Have a happy & safe vacation!!!!!!!! If the union ever fought for what was in the contract you should still get your holiday pay. Sunday is in a different pay period and the contract states... "The employee must have worked the last scheduled working day prior to, and the next scheduled working day after, such holiday within the employee's scheduled work week, except in the case of holidays which fall in the Christmas holiday period." So since Sunday is in the work week before and the 7th is in the work week after, technically you should be able to miss both and still get holiday pay. Well that is if the BC does what we pay them for instead of siding with the company.

Just spoke to a supervisor and a committee guy was there. They said no we are not working Sunday and no one is being mandated to work. Suppose to be surveyed if anything. I don't know how true that is but that's what I heard.

Sunday is a different pay period? Do you mean on C crew or what? On A crew Sunday is the last day of the pay period if you work it.
