This only thing I have found I could do to show my displeasure with recent dues increase. Does anyone know if union hall will be open during shutdown? Apparently I must go see Scott Edwards as labor said they don't have vcap forms?? Really?? They sure are making it tough for us to change vcap. And its almost like they want us to meet face to face with us to know who we are and to put us on some type of list

By law they cant ask you why. Its your pay and your rights. Tell him he is violating your rights or tell him you want the IUAW to know what pieces of shit they are by doing this.

I beleve you will have to contact Mark Dowell in order to do this, since he is in charge of the CAP.

I really wish more people were on here to do the same thing as autoslave I believe that probably is the best way to show we are sick and tired of these people doing what they want and we just have to take it. I personally will try to convince my co-workers to do the same. I was told by a bargainer the reason they raised our dues is cause the strike fund is low , I've been at Ford over 20 years exactly when did we go on strike to use money from our strike fund. They are using OUR money to try to unionize other plants and give politically. You know if I don't have money for certain things I save or do without. The union needs to learn this lesson

The funny thing all of us and our union (and ford motor co)know we will never strike.Im not saying a strike is always the answer, but its not even a threat anymore.Shit this aint the ol days.I think it helps in bargaining when theres a chance your workforce may walk out.I mean look at all our fore fathers had to go thru, and look what they got.Thats all we hear,is how they fought for the future...Don't you think its time the UNION starts fighting for OUR FUTURE???

Could I get a short definition of this vcap please? linkThe UAW's efforts to improve the quality of life reach beyond the workplace and bargaining table to political and social action at the community, state, and national levels.
Over the years, the UAW, working with other unions and progressive allies, has played a vital role in passing such landmark legislation as Medicare and Medicaid, the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), the Voting Rights Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Clean Air Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act.
At a time when powerful special interests, with their multi-million-dollar PACs and high-priced lobbyists, threaten to drown out the concerns of ordinary citizens, the UAW is a strong voice for policies and programs that make life better for all of us, not just the privileged few in our society. In Washington and state capitals, we're fighting for better schools for kids, secure health care and pensions for retirees, tougher workplace health and safety standards, clean air and water, stronger worker's comp and unemployment insurance laws, and fairer taxes
Pretty much its money you give the UAW (on top of your dues, which have been used for the same) that goes to liberal democrat politicians and or HOW EVER THE UAW SEE's FIT TO SPEND IT, LIKE THE STRIKE FUND.

U know what's messed up. I'm just finding out that vcap is political donations. I specifically remember them telling our orientation group that vcap was for metro united way.kosairs and other local charities.they said nothing about political contributions.I happen to b Republican also.

I've never to my knowledge filled out a V-cap card, but I did do one for the United Way 20 years ago. That wasn't V-cap in disguise was it?
