Because any jobs considered "insourced" don't count against the 20%.

I dont care who you are, when you come into to a work environment and its half the wage then the person across from you doing the same thing after awhile the bitching will start. justaworker you would be sounding off too! I like my job and the people I work with but i still believe I should be compensated the same after serve my due time like everyone else. Rule 1 Ford does not care what you think; or what you care about...It is not the Fair Motor Company...your getting yourself all worked up for nothing. Either hang in and get it or leave...there is no in between Rule 2 The UAW thinks the same thing of you...they just want you to vote for them at election time

Huh,, I love the word due time. 1yr is not due time. It took me 10yrs to get a bid job, not 1 day. As far as pay, these people had a choice not to accept the job. when contract time rolls around it will be the same story, it will pass. Yet you wont find one person who voted for it. I dont agree with the 2 tier pay, but I also dont agree that im making almost 2.00 less a hour than I did many yrs ago.

Look for Ford to propose a 2nd tier wage increase of... say... $4.00/hr and a first tier wage decrease of... say... $4.00/hr and a substantial bonus to 1st tier employees for accepting the wage decrease. And by substantial I mean over $50,000. Paid in four yearly installments.
Forget a return of cost of living allowance. Ford will propose to continue performance bonuses and lump sum COA bonuses. Look for Ford to accept yet another reworking of the profit sharing formula to give us all a few more crumbs each year.
Look for the IUAW to push hard for ratification for such a deal. And many fools will vote YES.

And by vouchers I mean quality 2nds. Ones that were beyond repair but drivable.

A wage buy down will never happen. Never. As always, we will get less money from ford... But it will be taken from us in other ways, (benefits).

Many 2nd tier would vote YES because they get a substantial wage increase. Many 1st tier within a few years of 30 and out will vote YES to grab the quick cash. Between the two may be enough votes to ratify

Never say never. 20 years ago I never imagined a 2-tier wage system and the elimination of the traditional pension for new hourly employees.
I never imagined the IUAW urging the rank and file to give away the right to strike.
I watched as Ford spent $800 million on a new paint shop and then close the assembly plant having never run a single production unit through the new shop.
Never say never.

But I will say never on wage buy downs. It's cheaper than screw us out of money that's not so obvious.

No one knows what's gonna happen and talking about wage buy downs and crap is nothing but people speculating. There's no reason to even believe a wage buy down is something that stands a chance of happening. Ford is happy with where wages are now. More than likely there will be a signing bonus waved in front of us and that's it. It will pass and life will go on.

And the vote will be passed just one day before Ford announces another record breaking profit! Another speculation.

Hope people don't let a bonus make them sign what will probably be a crapy contract.

That how I started this post. Don't let a Signing Bonus make your decision.

Even if we disagree with their leadership.... However, that man lost my respect when he bullied the membership into ratifying his horrible contract.

People respect their dictators in 3rd world countries that kill them and or their families for accusations of being unfaithful or disrespectful to their leader. I have no respect for Jimmy "Hussein" Settles. He and the IUAW have no problem taking our dues, getting raises, and never taking a cut like we have.
