How did they end 2 tiers? Did they bring 2nd tier up to tier one level or did they compromise & raise tier 2 a little & cut tier 1 to match it? If the latter its not encouraging at all, just asking because I don't know what they did.

They are UAW so absolutely they have a bearing on us, precedents set can sometimes have a big bearing, their top pay is only $21 so yes its apples & oranges but it still sets a precedent.

They raised tier 2 to full pay and gave everyone a raise. No cut in pay for the legacy workers

Your right apples to oranges. But its a start considering there in the same industry. $16 to $21 is a huge jump. Hopefully other parts companies will follow suit.

All it means is they will end up losing their contracts to be a supplier.

Why?

Because contracts go to lowest bidder. When they raise their prices then auto companies will go elsewhere.

I would say its not lear's first rodeo. If you understand it that way, I would say they would to. maybe there making a lot of money just like ford and they afford the pay raises.

Look at the "Low-lights" of their contract. Behind all the smoke and mirrors the company re-classified several jobs as "sub-assembly" jobs and I think I read where the "sub-assembly" jobs would top out at around $16.00 an hour by this new contracts END...It also goes on to say that those employees on the "sub-assembly" jobs will be able to get to the "assembly" jobs through attrition; and well...we all see how that is working out for the 80/20 rule at FORD

Looks like this was a done deal before it even went to the polls.
