Volunteers Needed - The Community Action Program of Local 862 is asking for volunteers for the Get Out the Vote Campaign for our endorsed candidates in the November 4th Election. The walk will be September 20th from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm from the LAP Union Hall on Fern Valley Road. To maintain the majority in the Kentucky House, and defeat Mitch McConnell, there will be a great need for volunteers to support those candidates who support our issues.

UAW Kentucky State CAP will be providing lunch for all union volunteers and their family members that help. Our UAW 862 Recreation Committee will be doing the cooking. Come out and show your support for one of our very own UAW members in the KY State House of Representatives. The location will be the LAP Union Hall on Fern Valley. Please RSVP Amy or Lisa (502-241-9491) so we can make sure we have enough food.

OWEN NEEDS YOUR HELP- Louisville native and Trinity High School Sophomore Owen McMasters is fighting leukemia for the second time. This time, he needs a bone marrow transplant. Owen is one of thousands of blood cancer patients who have to look for a bone marrow donor outside of their family. YOU could be the match and the cure for Owen or for one of the other patients who are hoping for a second chance at life. All it takes to join the donor registry is a cheek swab and a consent form. And donating marrow isn't scary like most people think it is! Come to the donor jam and get the simple swab to see if YOU are the match: SEPTEMBER 22, 2014 at the Hall of Justice, 2nd Floor from 8:00AM - 12:00PM.
