An Important Message from the Kentucky AFL-CIO:
SIX more days til ELECTION DAY!!.....Day of Reckoning for workers across
Kentucky. As Labor Leaders we can go all in and sweep our “working family”
candidates into office. Or I reckon we can sit back and suffer non-stop attacks
in the KY General Assembly and the US Senate for the next several years.
There’s a clear choice that we can make as Leaders. We know what’s coming if
we don’t commit to go all in. We know the constant drain on our Union’s
resources to fend off the non-stop attacks.
Our National Leaders have committed to GO ALL IN. Four National Presidents were
in Kentucky yesterday. What a day it was for the KY Labor Movement. Four
National Presidents of IBEW—USW—UAW—UMWA…along with the Sec Treas of the
National AFL-CIO…All in Kentucky yesterday rallying thousands of Union Members
across the State.
All in Kentucky to remind us of How Important this Election is to KY and to the
entire country.
COME ON….LABOR NEEDS YOU TO GO ALL IN…SIX DAYS to educate & turn out OUR
VOTERS!
In 2010 the Labor vote made up 13% of the total vote in Kentucky. Our member
turnout was around 55%. We need to surpass that in 2014 and increase our turnout
to at least 60%. We Can and We Will if WE ALL DO OUR PART!
Here’s what is needed: (Click the links below for locations-times-to
volunteer)
Convince your members and staff to volunteer for walks this Saturday & Sunday
Convince your members and staff to volunteer to make phone calls every day
through Election Day
Get your staff to volunteer time each day to call your
members….stewards…officers
Recruit stewards, officers, committees and activist to volunteer time during
GOTV
We can set you up with lists to call from your office
Get volunteers to help on Monday & Tuesday to turn out votes
Send that last piece of mail….needs to go out by Thursday
Visit those worksites to distribute that last flyer
COME ON…Just SIX DAYS...TIME TO GO ALL IN…Click the Links below or call us
