Trying to figure out the manpower process for the body shop?Am I correct ?Hire temps for summer vacations,roll 15 people off days to other shifts,kick 15 OUT of body shop.Summers over hire temps to available work or lay them off,open up Dept transfers to fill their positions with higher seniority people.Which means even though you came to body for days with febuary 95 or above you still could be the lowest NEXT year when vacation comes around .So don't the people that get KICKED out of body have recall rights BEFORE the dept transfer listed is honored??If this is the process I can only assume that in 3 to 5 yrs all days will be 93 and above and all 99s and above will be eliminated from the body shop.

I'm not sure what your saying here. Are you upset that seniority wins out? Do you feel that high seniority should suffer in trim so low seniority can have better jobs in body? Or are you really just still upset that union brothers and sisters have been given the opportunity to transfer into your plant, and that effects your seniority placement?

You have 6 month recall rights, shouldnt, but thats what happens when our leaders are guys with low seniority. Get off the meassage board bitching sbout it and go to the union office, dont whine to a committeeman, go to the office & stand up for yourself. Not rocket science

Im not from another plant. Hired in at KTP. You have 6 month recall rights to your department if they bring people in after you were forced out, shouldnt, but you do. Actually should be able to go to whatever dept you want if you have the time but will never happen in this place. Most the leadership couldnt hold days in paint/body/stamping so they make the rules to benefit themselves in the event they have to go back to work someday. Thing about seniority is until you have some it sucks, when you finally get some the majority that is below you try to implement rules to benefit themselves. Just wait until your in the top 10 percent, then you will understand.

Don't know my percentage...don't care ..I have 7/27/95 and work in body since 05 rest of the time trim..I just think it's a joke that they bring in Temps to cover vac. ,roll senior people off days .then when temps are gone they bring in dept transfers ..Therefore fucking me and everyone else that wants days...Should bring back the low people that got kicked out of body first..And yes I know I can go to a dept and hold days if it's that big of deal.and yes I do think the whole LAP thing was a joke and that's my opinion ..don't care who likes it .As far as other people transferring I'm all for it ..Their plants ACTUALLY CLOSED..For good not temporarily ..

I could be wrong in my perception, but when the largest group from LAP came to KTP a large number needed up out in trim/chassis. Other transplants also went into work available.... or trim/chassis
As they have trickled into Body seniority has shifted, and the new modern 3 crew leaves only one decent shift, so those who had seniority on C crew chose to roll to A crew in many instances
That too has made it more difficult to hold Day shift.
I don't know how many people were moved out of Body shop, or exactly when. It has felt like a never ending rotation of low seniority being moved to production and then replaced by higher seniority from other departments, that has been taking place since the launch of expedition/navigator or the arrival of LAP. ( about the same time).
I know some people get "taken care of", but overall I don't see some grand conspiracy going on. I see piss poor management making quick knee jerk reactions constantly shuffling man power from area to area in a short sided method
Just look at the teams in Body. One month you have extras and are flipping out left and right, while other teams never get to flip..... The next thing you know you loose 2-3 people at once and your short......
Piss pore management That's the primary problem I think

All of those that just got moved out were temps. They have no recall right's what-so-ever because they are now considered new hires. Presently, there is no one from Body shop that has recall rights. All of the ones that were bumped out of the body shop were done so before the local contract passed.

You know how many times they added relief people only to get rid of relief in my 20 years. A lot . You know what happens when this happens? High seniority people get the bids, they get rid of relief, they go on team there relieveing, a couple months go by they get rid of people out of department. Only to bid out relief again a year later, some use there recall right to take relief back, but most don't only to get more high seniority people again. Seen it a dozen times. We are a senoirity shop and high senoirity will win out eventually. Seen so many get bumped off days that's had it for years from just relief crap. Management don't care, you are a number...8 relief people put on teams, 8 people must leave shop.

Yep just like I was on days then they add LTSs ,then I get rolled to different shift but temps stay on days all fucking summer !! Then they hire temps and guess what they get kicked out of body and we need people,BUT THEY open up the fucking dept transfer and you get bent over and drilled again..BULLSHIT ..They know what's up they're trying to get all their buddies back in body.Whatever .Sad we have a union that fucks some people but takes care of their cronies..Still say that's why LAP people got to stay.Why would you let people come to your plant when their plant didn't close?And then LAP has to hire people.Bet the 98 and 99ers would of like to have those new hires under them..
