Be prepared to be shocked beyond belief. Pension to be replace with a buyout. $10,000.00 per year of service with Ford matching 401K deposits 100% up to 10% of employee contribution. This is to free up an expected Billion $ per year of finical obligation.

May be Funny, but the UAW and Bowing agreed to a similar deal last contract. Workers with less than 15yrs and 2nd tier wages may very well benefit from something like this which would hurt us old-timers.

"if" there is any truth to it, it would be voluntary. Some would take it, just like the early buyouts that happened before, they were voluntary.

I would sell mine to the company is the price is right tomorrow....I trust myself for my pension and when you get social security they cut in half...make me a nice offer and I am all about it

It would never be $10,000 per year... More like $5,000-$7,500 per... When social security kicks in, they don't pay us much per month.

Yes, but take into account life expectancy, I just don't see them offering a flat buyout per year... The buyout for someone leaving at 65 years old vs. someone 48 shouldn't be the same. The person leaving at 65 will only live about ten years... I think the pension buyouts would have to be person to person for it to make sense... Not everyone will have the same monetary needs. Ford has to pay the monthly payment for someone retiring at 48 approximately 30 years... The only way a buyout sounds good if you're retiring at the age of 60+ imo.
