We always authorize a strike. That's our only negotiating tactic. I seriously doubt we will, but I will be ready to walk.

Ford raised their dividend 2% today. If stockholders can get a 2% raise i feel those of us with a 0% raise in the past 10 years should, at the very least, get the same.

Here is a newsflash for you. We will NOT strike because most of membership lives paycheck to paycheck. Never seen so many fools, talk big game zero backbone. If I recall the last vote was leaning toward a strike, then all of a sudden Ford says well we will just close plants. Passed with no prob.

A strike was authorized by the membership per protocol. The international never called a strike because they reached an agreement with the company on a contract.

I agree we have to many people that can't save a dime and soon as they flash a little bonus that they will spend the same day they get it, all you've got to do is put up $100 a week and put you profit sharing check in savings and not touch it, it's just that simple then go take some class on how to save your money and quit living check to check, this is the perfect time for us to demand and get what's due to us

Pump the brakes. It's going to be hard for a lot of members to put aside that kind of money each week. When you factor in the 2 pack a day, 12 pack/fifth a night, ounce a week, the disposable income goes pretty quick. Better start with a five spot and build from there? . The rest can grab your ankles and some lube. September won't be kind.

No raise and no cola brought back SHOULD equal a strike. We've had no raise and actually lost money over the last several contracts. I understand a raise will hurt our profit sharing, but I would rather have extra money on each direct deposit than depend on a chance of recalls and stupid CEO decisions for extra spending money. A raise or a fight. I'll drink water and eat Ramen noodles for a few months if needed. If it doesn't work out and Ford decides to move south, I'll find another job that doesn't eat my body up every week.

Thats exactly what I remember also, plants were voting it down, our plant was voting it down,Jimmy Settles started making threats about plants closing and all of a sudden the tide turned.

Only way we strike is if Ford wants to do some more work to a plant .Thataway the UAW looks like badasses and Ford doesn't have to pay us for downtime..Either way it will be a big setup...
