If we were in "launch" mode maybe. I am sure that the union would see the extra OT as a plus for its membership. It probably in the contract language, right after the overtime after eight.

We are not even working mandatory weekends yet, why would we work 11 hrs? Brizzel is right though, if they put us in launch mode they can work us 12 hrs a day 7 days a week. They did that at LAP when they came back from layoff.

I do remember back in 98 or 99 we were training C crew people and they called 11and a bunch of WOMEN went off because of child care and they cancelled it.Which I agree they don't care,if they could work us 7 days a week they would.Assholes plain and simple..Hopefully this will blow over.

Body and paint now but that sets the tone for 3-crew in rest of plant when it starts. Told us they need 40,000 more trucks this year.

THEY CAN DO THAT!!!Just got the hand out ..It's official for BS and paint .11hrs.Feb.2015 til Jan.2016.Im betting tho we will be doing 11 or 11.5 when the new contract comes around. Why would they go back? We're (UAW) the only ones that do that...Supposingly the new schedule for starting the new BS is A crew Dec.2015,B crew Jan 2016 and C crewFeb 2016.Cant believe both Body shops will support 3 crews?.Whatever .

Heard from union rep that the company wanted to take the Chassis Cabs to Ohio. This is the reason for agreeing to 11hrs.

2 departments going 20 minutes more a day going to save us? Don't be that stupid DING DING DING!!!! We've got a winner!! Guess what kids? After 2 months when they figure out 18 min wasn't enough, they'll stretch it out to 11.5. Why not? The precedent has already been set. Love it when guys that haven't hit a lick on the line in more than a decade decide that it's just fine to extend our day. And before i hear, they did it to save the trucks from going to Ohio, just stop. Figure something else out. All we hear about is how concerned the union is for our safety. Really? Extending our day, helps my well being how exactly?

Some negotiators we have on "our" side.
Company: "fellows we need to up the workday to 11 hours a day" Union "ok"
Should have at least went like this:
Company "fellows we need to up the workday to 11 hours a day" Union "well we have a contract that states clearly that the work day is to be no longer than 10.7. This is what the memebership agreed to when they voted. If you guys would agree to go back to 6 minutes of break time for every hour of work while we are doing 11 hour days we would agree to this"
Never seen a group of guys get manhandled everytime they sit down at the table to negotiate things. Guess when Phoenix University grads are negotiating with Ivy league grads this is what you get

Its only 18 more minutes. Its only another .75 jobs an hour increase in line speed. They are slowly and surely trying to break us down. The sooner they get us to retire the better for the company's bottom line. Our union is complicit in the destruction of its membership.

My take on this is they are building as many as possible to prepare for a strike. Which we all know will never happen. The reason I say this is because of the "only for 11 months" bullshit line of the memo. Once it's here, it's here to stay. We all know how "temporary" all of our givebacks have been in the past.

Funny shit. Wonder why? I thought Ford learned the lesson of overworking people 85 years ago. Guess not.. The quality and lay downs will reflect on this stupid decision.

I'm thinking they're stockpiling for Sept. But then I smack myself and say Strike???The UAW don't have the balls to fight for us!!And I bet anything that they will MAKE us work 11.5 in the new contract. If I were in charge with all the money Fords spent at our plant alone I would ream that ass good!!!You know like they been doing Us the last 10 years !!

I'm sure some people in chassis or trim will trade body/paint work schedules. Let's see, 50 hrs & 2 days off versus 44 hrs & 3 days off. So hard to decide which schedule to take!

The sooner they get us to retire the better for the company's bottom line. Our union is complicit in the destruction of its membership. I totally agree!! These boys we have in office are so out of touch with the normal working person they have no clue what's going on. Take away their raises and all theirs perks-let them know what it's like to actually work for a living once again. Working single parents have hard enough time with childcare as it is-then put the kids in for at least 20 more a day. Doesnt Ky still have the law where kids aren't allowed more than 12 hours a day in daycare, that pretty much puts them within 15 min of the plant . Plus opening up the National agreement that we voted on..how many dead beats did we get hired back for trade off? Or grievances shoved under the table??

That's true about which schedule to choose. But I think a lot of people stay out front because they can't hold days in BS or Paint.May 1995 right now and it keeps creeping up.
