I am of the mind that committee person rotations are severe disservice to our members. Any like minds out there?

Yes, I agree. That is a tactic that those on the inside do to try to expose themselves to more people to try to win future votes. Disagree of you want but most elections are popularity contest and people vote more on me recognition than ability. This is one of the reasons why I feel like we should have district elections, so that only people in your area are eligible to run to represent your areas and you get to vote on who represents you not me or some other shift.

I totally agree!! I'm from Indy-local 1111 and that is how we were set up. Committe people actually knew the jobs they were representing and if they didn't go a good job-they were voted out. Period.

I just want a committeeman that doesn't interrupt your question with "Let ME ask YOU a question, WHY ARE YOU GAPPING THE LINE? ??". I shit you not. We were too stunned to jump in his shit with both feet. But we're chomping at the chance to do it.

What I would like to know is who scheduled a volunteer Sunday, on the same week we got our profit sharing, and a major sports weekend for a lot of us?

I agree with the rotation system. I do think there is too close of a working relationship between union reps and managers at times. I also believe it keeps all parties more honest in the system we have. Without it - you would have even more of the buddy system that everyone gripes about. And the company could find moreways to strong arm the union.
