It's probably hard to tell from your offices but 11 hours sucks even more in the summertime heat. Thanks , you guys are the greatest.

They couldn't care less, they don't have to do it. Besides by letting the company break the contract and force us to go 11, they get to stand on their soap box and thump their chests saying they saved the chassis cab from going to Ohio.
Our contract is written in pencil, and whenever the co sees an oppourtunity to break it, the union holds us still while they drop it in balls deep.

We are already so SICK of going 11 hours. I say move the damn chassis cabs to Ohio. How did making units there work out before? People need to learn how to manage their money based in a 40 hour week and we as members need to elect leaders that will fight for US instead of lining their own pockets. !!!

This is a touchy subject. I'm never for opening the contract . I hate those god damned chassis cabs. But. You never as a local or a plant want to lose work. That really is pretty basic. When u work in an auto plant with a hot product it's never gonna be a 40 hr week when things are selling. It sux but it's part of it.

They didnt have to move chassis cabs to Ohio when our order bank was twice what it is now. So that was bullshit

Exactly right Joe. I'm sick of the Union bringing it up every time there is an issue. Just you wait till contract time , your friendly neighborhood committee person will finally show up poor mouthing like Lou Holtz. They will tell you " unless you accept this crap contract" that Ford will move our product. Bullshit ! This truck isn't going anywhere

When will you people learn? Ford is going to do what they want. The UAW has no power. Just work the 11 hours and hush. It won't last forever. If you still don't like it, please just quit. Give a break you whiners!

650 & 750 cabs are not the same as a SD cab only truck. Oh and OHAP is installing an aluminum body shop to build the SD cab only trucks to replace the econoline cab only when it is retired shortly.

Give a break you whiners! I seem to have a different view than you. I remember our brothers and sisters that fought for our rights and benefits. Where would we be now if they just quit when the company tried to take those rights away. We have to make a stand against this company and this corrupt Union. Just my view but I won't quit and I will join my brothers and sisters on the picket line to fight for our rights. What will you do when the time comes?

If we choose to strike, I will be out there holding my sign. But remember, Ford is only going to pay us what they want to. The UAW does not control anything, except our money they collect every month. Making a stand against the company may get you a little. Making a stand against the UAW will get you nothing except maybe a Right To Work state. The way I see it, our only right is that Ford allows us to walk through the gate every day. Better take advantage of that right while it still exists!

We build 2 shifts of F-series in final at KTP and no where else. The F-150 has 6 shifts building between DTP and KCTP. I do not want to lose anything at all but if we do I definitely don't want to lose regular cabs for God sake those are the easy trucks to build, can you imagine running 100% crew cabs? Plus with all of the construction going on and final going to 3 crews if we lose any trucks we are definitely getting a new product.

Where they build reg cabs has nothing to do with the union did this the union did that! it is all about the supply chain, who they can get parts from and who can move the trucks once their built. our trucks take up a lot of space and takes a lot of haulers to get them moved. Ford is gonna build the vehicles where it makes the most sense for them to build them. Just remember we are in a great location with UPS and Rail tracks that lead everywhere.

Some of our Super Duty chassis cab production will go to Ohio Assembly Plant. That was a decision made by the company some time ago. KTP local agreements had nothing whatsoever to do with that decision.
The KTP bargaining committee either 1) flat out lied to us about "preventing chassis cab production from leaving KTP;" or 2) is hopelessly out of touch.
My money is on "flat out lied to us." Either way we are screwed.
There is no question but that UAW 826 is in partnership with the company.

Ford Motor Company has got you right where they want you.
The UAW is a sick man on his death bed. But if you want to look for someone to blame for that, look in the mirror.
40 years ago the UAW was still a strong, vibrant union that was capable of making serious gains at the bargaining table with FoMoCo. But that was because the rank and file - our fathers and grandfathers - had balls.
Today the UAW is a toothless kitten satisfied to partner with the company. And why? Because 21st century rank and file are frightened kittens who do not dare to demand more from either the union or the company. They are just happy to have a job and tremble at the thought that it will be taken away from them if they ask for more.

Our collective strength or collective fears will always determine our futures here. I dont care if your 20 or have 20 plus years in...we must get over ourselves and stand as one to accomplish anything. If the contract isnt a BIG give back on many levels.. We ALL need to vote NO.. And even strike.. They can pay us ALL equally..they did it for 100 years straight..!!!!!!!

wonder why stamping is shipping SD parts to OHAP? Seems we were hoodwinked again by the guys looking out for us. I will say it again, every time these guys negotiate something for us we get the worst end of it. Worlds Worst Negotiators. God help us all in Sept!

Let SD go and take back the 11 hr thing. Do you really think that would hurt us? 4 or so presses , 2 Bodyshops,2 paintshops, and 2 stackers. Do you really think that we're not getting somekind of new product? We are HUGE! And getting bigger every year. Tell everyone to remember that during contracts when we go and vote FUCKING NO!

Speaking of expansion, the brand new South docks across from stamping and where the supervision offices are. We were told last week that they are going to rip out one of the brand new walls and double the size of that warehouse, when I asked why they didn't do that when they first built I was told that they ran out of expansion money for 2014 and were just allotted 2015 expansion money. With the warehouse space that they are putting in around the plant we are gearing up for something big. If we stored parts it would be different but our parts trucks are on time every day with little to no leftovers.

They are just happy to have a job and tremble at the thought that it will be taken away from them if they ask for more. 40 years ago you had 5 manufacturers of autos in the U.S.! Today, you have 14 manufacturers with plants in the U.S. that compete for the same market: 1-Ford 2-Chrysler 3-GM 4-Toyota 5-Honda 6-Volkswagon 7-Nissan 8-Hyundai-Kia 9-BMW 10-Mercedes-Benz 11-Mitsubishi 12-Mazda 13-Subaru 14-Tesla Please let me know if I missed any others. This list does not include those products imported only like Fiat, etc. Competition has drove down wages, sales, market share, UAW membership, and bargaining power. How many on the list are Union Companies? We are in the minority. What is Fords market share today compared to 40 years ago? Google is your friend. I want all to research those numbers for yourself. The power of the UAW will continue to slide now that the IUAW made the Locals compete against each other since the last contract. Now, there is a race to give back to solidify products in the future. Forced by the IUAW! So, my argument to you is that the 21st century rank and file are not frightened kittens as you say. They are just victims of relentless competition in a global marketplace that never was thought of 40 years ago. Competition will continue to erode wages and benefits for those that work in the industry unless the list is unionized. (Which will never happen) We can only hope to find a way to stand united by getting rid of two-tier. Otherwise, erosion will happen at a faster pace in the future.

I agree ,but ..We have the F series truck...Maybe 4 of those Co.s listed make trucks. Its time to stand up to these assholes and get what we deserve..The 2 tier thing is horrible .But it's like every other thing we voted on and passed ,it's not going anywhere .And we won't get crap back unless this place sits idle for a couple months..
