MEMBERSHIP MEETING 8/11: The next monthly membership meeting will be held at
the KTP Union Hall on Chamberlain Lane on August 11th. As always, the times
will be 12:00pm and 6:00pm. Representatives from the International Staff will
be present at this meeting to answer questions regarding topics such as Entry
Level Pay, Benefits, Raises for Legacy Employees, and different struggles with
salary following the discussions of the anti-harassment policies.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE LOCAL 862/LAP WORKFORCE: In June, JD Power awarded the
Louisville Assembly Plant and the Ford Escape a plant performance award for the
Best Entry Level Small SUV. Keep up the good work 862!
LOCAL 862 GOLF SCRAMBLE: The UAW Local 862 Golf Scramble will be held Sunday,
August 9th at the Elks Run Golf Course in Jeffersonville, IN. Check in will
begin at 6:45 and a shotgun start will follow at approximately 7:30. The
scramble is limited to the first 136 golfers who register and pay through the
local union. The fee for the scramble is $55, and will include green fees,
cart fees, a meal and a shirt.
LAP ANNUAL GOLF SCRAMBLE: The Louisville Assembly Plant will once again host
its annual golf scramble on Sunday, September 20th. This year’s event will
again be held at Nevel Meade Golf Course in Prospect, and will benefit March of
Dimes. There will be two flights held this year with shotgun starts beginning
at 7:30 am and 1:30 pm. LAP Employees will have the opportunity to register
for the scramble for half price ($350 for a team of 4 or $80 for a single), as
long as they register before August 1st.
2015 NATIONAL NEGOTIATIONS: The official start to the UAW/Ford National
Negotiations will take place on July 23, 2015 at Cass Tech High School in
Detroit, Michigan. President Dennis Williams and Vice President Jimmy Settles
will open the negotiations at 10:00 am. Good luck to all of our International
Representatives and National Negotiating Committees as we open negotiations for
this very important upcoming UAW/Ford National Agreement!
NORTHWOOD UNIVERSITY: We are happy to announce that UAW-ETAP approved Northwood
University will continue offering accelerated Associate and Bachelor degree
programs onsite to Ford/UAW employees for the fast approaching fall 2015
semester. Even better, they are still providing over a 35% discount off of
tuition to LAP & KTP Ford/UAW employees and this discount applies to all classes
including online, classes at either KY plant, or at the Northwood campus here in
Louisville, KY. Most classes are 8 weeks long and onsite courses meet for only 3

Labor Day Picnic and Car Show at the Zoo: Mark your calendars for the 16th
Annual Labor Day at the Zoo Picnic and Car Show on September 7th. Ticket prices
will remain $7 for advance sales and $9 at the gate the day of the event. They
will be available at Local 862 Union Halls beginning June 9th, the in-plant
union office at KTP (Mark Baker), or the LAP Cafeteria clothing store (Gayle
Parker). Children two and under are free. Included in the ticket price is all
day admission to the zoo, parking, food and drinks, car show and inflatable
rides.
Active Heroes Military Family COMMUNITY CENTER: There are free programs
available to veterans and their family members. Some of those programs include
acupuncture treatments June 9, 10:00am-2:00pm, yoga and guided meditation June
18, 10:00am-11:30am, and Cross-fit (beginning course) on June 20, 1:30pm-2:30pm.

13th Annual JDRF Awareness Ride & Poker run: This is a UAW Ford sponsored event
that will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015 (rain date Sunday August 16th. Ride
day registration begins at 8:00am and will be held in front of the two story
glass admin building at KTP, 3001 Chamberlain Lane. The ride leaves at 10:00am.
There will be a special $250 drawing for pre-registrations received by August
1st. The end destination will be the KTP Union Hall at 2702 Chamberlain Lane.

LAP/KTP UAW 862 COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMITTEES: Members at both LAP and KTP are
urged to save their unused toiletries (i.e. shampoo, body wash, and conditioner)
from their hotel stays while on vacation this summer. You can drop them off at
either of the Local 862 Union Halls from now until September 1st. We will have
bins in the secretaries’ offices to collect your donations. The items
collected will be donated to the Wayside Christian Mission and Camp Taylor
Elementary.

REBALANCE PERIOD: The agreed upon and approved timing for the 2015 four month
reallocation period began on April 13, 2015 and with run through August 14,
2015. The company will maintain its right to rebalance after August 14, 2015
to resolve issues in accordance with the Letters of Understanding, Volume IV-A,
pages 46-47. The parties further agree that the changes in timing will allow
the plant to look for counteractions to improve the plant’s performance.
LTS STATUS: The original agreement between the Local Union and the Company was
to lay off the LTS employees on September the 6th. However, due to our volume
increase agreement, the Local Union was able to negotiate the LTS employees
staying until November 1, 2015. The intent of the Local Union is to attempt to
negotiate on behalf of all of the LTS Employees to become permanent Entry Level
Employees.
DAILY/WEEKLY REMINDERS: As always, please check your DROTS daily, your
paystubs weekly, that your phone number and address are kept current, and ensure
that your passwords are updated regularly. This will help to ensure that your
pay is correct, that you don’t miss any opportunities to work possible OT, and
that you are able to login to the bidding system and other sites through the LAP
Homepage. Also, the company has been much more diligent in sending folks to
Labor Relations for Attendance issues.

CINCINNATI REDS BASEBALL TRIP: If you would like to attend a Cincinnati Reds

Halls. The game is September 27th 2015. Our Local 862 Recreation Committee has
tickets, a bus, and refreshments available for the trip! The bus will leave the
LAP Hall at 9:30am and the KTP Hall at 10:00am. Approximate return is 8:00pm.
