If you plan on bidding on one of these 800+ jobs up right now, check daily...I've noticed new jobs added...if you don't check everyday, you may miss a posting. They are good about posting up jobs for a day or two and then disappearing. As long as you check everyday until the closing date of 9/14 (I think), you should see them all. Good luck...looks like many new hires will get the opportunity to get off the line and at least lock down a fork job in their first year or so.

No, you have to be on your current bid for four months.

Have a question. which is a better bid job, weld inspection or line inspection? Are both body shops going to be used or the old one phased out?
Thanks

Weld inspector is much better than line inspector.

Supposedly the old body shop will run expedition and navigator ..only.New shop trucks. As far as the bid job question, most of the weld inspectors are in the mezz where it's super hot in the summer and sorta dangerous ,but good, line inspector less freedom but cooler in the summer .Prolly more free time on the weld inspector.

Thanks for the replies. I've been on frame line my whole time here. All of these bids can be a little overwhelming.

I wouldnt get my hopes up, The job I bid on when they first came out was pulled ! from my experiance in bidding on jobs that means the fix is in some one with lower seniority or in good graces with company floor bosses or ass kisser will get that job. It's bull shit how this union politics continues to thrive and the majority " us" just cant do anything about it....I guess I'm ready for the pasture !

How are the jobs in stamping? Never been over there? Getting worse by the day... Took breaks away from rackers a long time ago. Fork jobs attached to the line are busy and fast. Fork jobs on the steel job suck also. Quality on line... Not so good. Metal repair busy, but write your own check... But they're adding some so less hours for all I assume.

Today a member with less than four month's seniority working on A-Crew bid on the C-Crew Material Handling posting. He figured he had nothing to lose since he is bound to be rolled to C-Crew anyway.
They want 150 people on C-Crew. He was #79 on the list. He also was remarkably high on the B-Crew Material Handling bid list!
Imagine, less than a year's seniority and he may spend the rest of his Ford career off of the assembly line!

They're aware that there won't be 164 ppl bidding on C crew fork so it will be filled with new hires after the bid closes... Imagine never being on the line.

Of all the jobs up for bid, which ones have the best chance of getting more than 40 hours per week?

I actually did door fit for awhile. Its ok you get to wear shorts and be closer to the door, but it's too crowded out there for me..People all over the place including asshole supervisors..Then if you get hood fit its on the other side of water test so you get wet all night..Easy though..Sometimes.?

Overbidding alot of these jobs for the launch, if your near the bottom 10% of them beware, they will be reduced down once the launch is completed.
