Material handling...off your feet...but will develop possible neck, back, hip, and shoulder injuries...possibility of running over idiots that walk all around you. Weld inspector...depends on new vs. old body...old body has actual welds...new body...glue and rivets...no one knows what weld inspection will consist of in the new body shop with aluminum...I don't have much to add to weld inspection...one of the jobs I haven't done and I've done about all of them. I do know that if you are on the line checking welds, it's busy, your tied to the line, and I would imagine that would come with the company's eagerness to write you up for missing bad welds?

It may depend on whether or not you want to be off your feet or standing all day...material handling in body? If material handling in body or stamping, you still have to wear sleeves and all the hot gear...if somewhere else, you can wear shorts and tank tops if you choose?

Now the question is how long before the acceptance letter is posted and we are placed?

Very good question...that's a lot of movement and training...and I would assume all those leaving bid jobs for one of these bids will also have to wait on their replacement to be bid and moved before they go? Lots of movement...

Before all these last jobs there where over 30 new paint relief jobs that ended bids on 8-25, or 8-24. Those have yet to be posted under job accepted.
If you got one your not eligible to bid on all those that closed yesterday?
All the same, it will be a long time I think before we know anything:(

Correct, once you are accepted on a bid, you have 4 months before you can bid again I believe.

Correct, once you are accepted on a bid, you have 4 months before you can bid again I believe. Yes but all of these new bids are " special ", due to model launch. The first round for new paint required you stay on them through July 2016.

Dunno...imagine it depends on who you are and if someone wants you to have bid rights or not?

2 previous bids were just posted. I guess they didn't get enough people. In the 20 years that I have been here I have not seen the company to have to force low senior people to a bid job. This could get interesting.......

I'm in material handling. Drove for 5 years in Atlanta, little over 3 here. Supervisors make all the difference. There are a lot of piss poor supervisors here that make life a lot less fun than it could be. That said, it's better than chasing units on the line any day! I've worked all over body here. Closure, body sides, cab corner, door line, U sub. I've had good and bad jobs in body and stock. I still prefer working in stock. Can't stand my supervisor right now. Worse one I've ever had in all of Ford, but my hands don't hurt, my feet don't hurt. Different strokes for different folks!
