President Dunn’s Weekly Newsletter Volume 1, Issue 162, September 4, 2015
TO ALL PRODUCTION AND SKILLED TRADES MEMBERS OF UAW LOCAL 862- On behalf of
Jimmy Settles, the National Ford Negotiators, and the Leadership Team of Local
862, we would like to thank you for your tremendous support on the strike vote!
As you know, it was an overwhelming 98.1% in support of a strike authorization
vote. Thanks to you, the members, we have sent a clear message to Ford Motor
Company that we are prepared to take the necessary steps in order to achieve
equity in our National and Local Agreements. Your Negotiating Team will now be
prepared to accomplish their goal in securing a contract that is fair and
equitable for all parties concerned. Thanks again for your participation in this
important matter!
UAW LOCAL 862 PICNIC – The picnic will be held from 11:00am-5:00pm downtown on
the Waterfront’s Great Lawn again this year. The handicap parking was moved
due to a policy that the Waterfront Development has in place. The handicap
parking for this year’s picnic has been relocated to the parking lot on the
opposite corner of the riverside entrance for the River Bats Stadium. The UAW
Picnic notice will have the specific parking information for this year’s
event. It is a mandatory requirement to schedule the facility many months in
advance. We were notified that hours were altered to accommodate a C-crew
holiday schedule. It is unfortunate that many of our members will not be in
attendance, however in efforts to accommodate as many members as possible we
will have extended hours on the shirt booth. As always we have done some
things different and added features to our event this year. Please remember to
attend this event with your families.
27TH ANNUAL MUSTANG AND ALL FORD CAR SHOW – This event will be held on
Saturday October 10th, 2015 (Pony Trail October 9th) at Bill Collins Ford

registration is 8:30am until pony trail departure. The pony trail is
10:00am-3:00pm. Saturday registration is 8:00-11:00am. Judging is 11:00am with
awards at 5:00pm. Free awards dinner following awards presentation. Food and
