Given what Toyota went through during the lawsuit for not paying people to enter and leave their PPE and shorting their OT and coupled with the DROT screw ups with the new hires; it has called unnecessary attention to where you're at and what you're doing. Sprinkle in the "word of mouth" issue for disputing AWOLs and you get time cards...

Even if it is on our gate pass they'll still have to do a head count on the line,So why bother?Unless they're trying to fuck with the early leavers?Assholes!

People go thru the gate on their breaks and lunch. What then? Don't see this happening at all.

Breaks are paid, lunches aren't. What I was getting at is if they would use the ID card at the turnstyles to clock in and out there would be possibly multiple times in and out of gates to deal with, Sniper, still crying over your break time I see, Waa Waa Waa!!!!!

I doubt they'd use the gates. New paint/mod center doesn't currently use a card reader gate. Gates don't record when you leave. People often forget gate pass. Gates are too far away from where you actually work.

I don't know if they currently track us or not really?Do you?You still have to go thru gate and get to your job by 6 regardless of how far away it is.If you forget pass you go to security just like now? That would be the easiest .But what do I know?

They don't actively keep track, but there is a record they can access to show what date/time you go through gate. It's like material handling. The key fob gives them a record of everything. When you start/stop. How much time you sit idle. Everywhere you go. But they very rarely actually access that info.

The company told the union they would never use the gate as a record of attendance...but they would write up supervisors (years ago) at LAP if you came in late and the sup didn't dock you. It was a temporary thing in an attempt to get sups to dock you for walking in late. I remember it forced one guy that was 5 minutes late everyday to start getting here on time. No matter what they attempt, there's always been ways around it. Have your buddy punch you out if you're leaving early...have your buddy punch you in if you're late. Time clocks are nothing new...used them way before we ever started working here. Hell I had a supervisor at UPS that would punch everyone in every night to keep his area/people out of trouble. Bring it...I love games. I guess I can't count on sniper to punch me in early/late?

People complain about abusers. Define abusers. The way I see it, if the boss don't mind, then it ain't my business when you leave. If the boss does care, then they have the ability to stop you leaving early.
My complaint to a time card simply revolves around the time it will take to clock out with everyone trying to leave at the same time.

If they keep your time with a time clock, you are paid until you punch out. Will be alot of poop breaks when the line stops.

Did this years ago at a few parts plants. Knew a guy that made an extra $100 bucks a week clocking people out. $1.00 a day per person. Time clocks lasted about 18 months then they were history. This place is to unorganized to use time clocks, wouldnt worry a second about it, will never happen
