You might have to just get used to a world without participation trophies. This contract was an improvement for the temps compared to the last one, so it's pretty clear that you don't have a clue, sorry. Just so you know, the company has used temps for decades now, except in the 90s they'd lay them off after 89 days. The situation for temps has improved tremendously since then. If you weren't so young and inexperienced you'd be aware of that. The company would have, would they? Care to post any proof or are we just supposed to believe your baseless claim? As for participation trophies, whose idea was it to start giving those things out in the first place? Could it have been the Boomers and Gen Xers who were such snowflakes that they didn't want their fee fees hurt because their jerkoff kids couldnt cut the mustard? I don't have to prove shit, boy.

Wtf... just saw a bulletin that said if you see your union brother or sister doing anything suspicious in the parking lot that your suppose to rat on them! How about just mind your own business. If I see someone damaging someone else's property that person is no longer my union brother. In fact, there are a lot of people in there who don't give a shit about union brotherhood. If someone steals from you, threatens you (unless you did something egregious enough to justify it), or damages your property, they aren't your union brother/sister anymore, no matter what the union or company files say. Clearly, for them to engage in such behavior, it proves that they don't consider you theirs. I have no moral or ethical obligation whatsoever to protect some degenerate who does this sort of stuff to other union members. If I see anyone damaging someone's vehicle in the parking lot, I'm calling security. As for the person doing the vandalism, fuck you. Keep your lower class trash bullshit away from where we have to work. I wouldn't call security for smoking or drinking though. The person might just have a problem and doesn't want to hurt anyone. Now if a forklift driver comes back in barely able to walk trying to climb onto his lift, I'd stop him and call the UNION. Let them handle that sort of stuff. But vandals and thieves? I know this is off topic but I haven't heard nor seen a word from the new B.C. guy. I'm thinking this is what we should expect from him. NOTHING! The guy didn’t even walk the floor to campaign, you think he is going to do anything now that he has the gig? Communication will be very minimal the next few years. More bullshit. I know for a fact he was in bodyshop on C crew. They weren't permitted by the company to talk to people while they are working. You probably didn't know that. They tried to catch people on break tho, and team leaders. So they did make some effort to reach out to the people within the constraints that the company legally imposed. So instead of bitching about things you don't understand, why not complain to the company that limited their interactions instead? Or the NLRB. That'd be a good start. Hopefully you voted at least, but considering the shit turnout, you probably didn't.

I must have missed where people were cheering for more or any flu related deaths........... Its the flu and even when it "passes" it will always be around and mutate. Sounds like 8 out of 10 never know they have it or any symptoms / 2 out of 10 have issues while 80% recover fine. (Use common sense, hygiene and life goes on) It’s not the flu, if it was the flu it wouldn’t be called a virus. 80% recover fine you say. How about if give you 100 m&ms and tell you that 20 of them will kill you. How many are you going to eat? I was told by a Superintendent that if they held new hires to the same standards they held us to in the 90's they couldn't staff a shift. I've watched TEMPS literally, LITTTTTTERRRRALLLLLY miss 20-30 things a day on their job for a solid week and not so much as a word. I've watched new hires have the line down because they're on their phone and give the supervisor the index-finger-justaminute sign before turning the line back on and not a word. If they wanted they could fire 700 people within a week. Yet nobody can give them too much shit about it because that's harassment. Their feelings might get hurt. Just make the team leader or some other good worker pick up their slack and do more work. Easier for the invertebrate supervisor. Hell, labor relations doesn't even discipline for awols now until you're up to a month off. What a way to send a message to the degenerates, people who only take advantage of other peoples' leniency. "Hey, um, the plant's future is at risk because of high absenteeism, so stop it, please, but hey go ahead and keep missing because we aren't going to do shit about it. Enjoy your day off.".. .

I've bought only Ford vehicles since I hired in over 25 years ago, but for the next Ford I plan to buy I'm going to try to research personnel issues at whatever plant makes it. Needless to say I'll never buy an Explorer made in Chicago. If Ford keeps hiring awful people instead of best in class like it was, and keeps ignoring it's own policies by letting scumbags get away with almost anything, I guess I'll just have to buy from another company.

I'm so glad that I've only got a few years left before i can retire, but I feel sorry for the newer people who are actually good workers. With absenteeism as high as it is, and the shockingly high number and lazy, lying, useless turds in there who pretend that they can't do the simplest of jobs when clearly they can, I don't expect KTP to be around more than 10-15 more years. Such a shame, but whoever is hiring these dishonest, lazy people is to blame. Both are an embarassment to the company, and the union. Hiring standards should be restored to how they were in the 90's. We had to come to the plant multiple times over several months for all sorts of tests, like small group assessments to see how well you work with others and solve problems. I remember the instructors keenly eyeballing everyone, making notes, culling the herd for who got to come back for the next test. It was literally called Best In Class hiring. Now they'll hire anyone with a pulse.

My Cuz is telling me that an entire team in SUV paint is getting cut out or maybe split up because of people leaving early and getting caught not working. Anyone know anything about this ? No, but it wouldn't surprise me. Hourlies truly screw each other over more than mgmt does. I've seen jobs get changed around as far back as 20 years ago due to workers insisting on doing dumb shit. It's funny too because it's always the same response, "that's bullshit!" or "the union sucks!" when mgmt gets fed up with these idiots. Always someone else's fault, lol
