I think this is a excellent reminder that Jobs bill, is not a jobs bill.It also illustrates how these massive bills contain things that this country does not want or need.President Obama in his primetime speech and in campaign stops all across the country is trying to convince people that this bill must be passed now, before people actually understand what is in it.Fortunatly Democrats have realized that this is not a winner for them and have pushed back introducing this bill .Harry Reid has said that this bill will not make it to the floor until some time next month.

Obama is just plain insane! Cant wait till he is gone. I hate to say this, but Obama is quite intelligent. He knows what he is doing and he has done the best job he can do to "Change" our country for the worse. He is a Liberals wet dream. By creating bigger govt. and turning capitalism into socialism, he is half way finished with his agenda. Now if we can figure a way to disconnect his teleprompter, 99% of his brain function would cease.

This is politics at it worst. This would kill all business both big and small with more than 15 employees in the US. The courts would be swamped with lawsuits. Only the lawyers would benefit from this. Don't pass this bill until we know what other hidden surprises are in this.

I hope you all have read the article. They are allowed to sue for not being hired based on their unemployment status; not just because they are unemployed.

This is a reminder to everyone that it is not just the Republicans that are against this bill. Also to remind everybody that when President Obama claims that Rebublicans are against creating jobs, that this is not a jobs bill. Durbin says Democrats don’t currently have the votes for Obama jobs bill
By Daniel Strauss - 09/29/11 07:33 PM ET
Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said, at the moment, Democrats in Congress don’t have the votes to pass President Obama’s jobs bill, but Durbin added that that situation would change.
“Not at the moment, I don’t think we do, but, uh, we can work on it,” Durbin said, according to Chicago radio station WLS.
President Obama has been calling for Congress to pass his American Jobs Act since legislators returned from their August recess. The jobs plan is made up of a combination of tax increases on the wealthy, new infrastructure spending, an extension of the employee payroll-tax cut and additional funding for unemployment insurance benefits.
Republicans have voiced opposition to the plan, albeit less than with other pieces of legislation Democrats have proposed recently
Durbin added that the president’s bill would need bipartisan support because there are senators both on the left and the right opposed to aspects of it. “The oil-producing-state senators don’t like eliminating or reducing the subsidy for oil companies,” Durbin said. “There are some senators who are up for election who say ‘I’m never gonna vote for a tax increase while I’m up for election, even on the wealthiest people.’ So, we’re not gonna have 100 percent of Democratic senators. That’s why it needs to be bipartisan and I hope we can find some Republicans who will join us to make it happen.”

Some people base their political views and affiliations on one single issue. Then others, me included, base it on ALL issues and look at the overall picture. So I ask, who is really brainwashed?

Joe, brainwashing is convincing someone else to believe something that they would not normally accept including a belief that may not be best for them.
Supporting a sports team regardless of facts is fine.
A person accepting every belief or concept from either of the political parties represents an extreme form of brainwashing. Believing a political party is correct on everything allows politicians to convince their followers that they need to pay more taxes even if it will affect them worse; allowing those that are far more capable to pay less. Of course that is just one example.
If you think it is good to accept everything from any single party, you really need to stop and reconsider where/how you have been influenced and consider each issue on its own.

sanjay I find it curious that your response to peoples opinion is to call them names and claim that if they believe anything different from what is espoused by liberal politicians, and a media that will not Question anything that our current President asserts,as being brainwashed. You may not have been responding to my post about Dick Durbin saying that there is not enough Democrats supporting this bill.If you were then I should point out that I was simply stating that this is not really about creating jobs and backing up said statement with facts.Facts generally are the enemy of the brainwashed. The brainwashed people just can not compute facts that goes against what they have been brainwashed to believe. So they must resort to accusing everybody else of what they themselves are afflicted with. They tend to try to sidetrack any intelligent discussion by resorting to name calling and never providing any information about why they believe what they believe.

Even if you do not continue to post, please continue to come back and learn about how to have an intelligent discussion. You will hopefully open your mind and actually begin to do some critical thinking.
