This is starting out from a similar position as the tea party did, anger at tax payers being left with the bill from corporate greed. There are two main differences though.
1. The tea party initially focused on one issue, the bailout. So far this movement seems focused on what allowed the bailout to pass (and what allowed the economy to be put at such high risk), the overwhelming influence of corporations in politics.
2. The tea party has been around long enough to be hijacked by a political party. This group hasn't.
Not yet anyways.
Don't count on a lot of response in the political forums until the contract is settled.

This group is a bunch of left wing hippies, living in their moms basement who have degrees in European Art, Folk Music, French Basket Weaving and other worthless subjects. If they went to school and got degrees in something useful, then maybe they would be an asset. It makes the Unions look bad by joining in with these people. Yea, I dont like greed in big companies, but hey, the CEO's of big corporations went to school and worked hard to further their education to get where they are at. Entitlement pisses me off.

I thought they looked like people out of a job, and tired of companies like Ford taking advantage of them. Protesting is just like going on strike.....

The protesters I have seen on the news looked like a group of Hippy types and intellectuals. Don't necessarily disagree with some of their points on Wall Street corruption, but the socialism some were preaching was nauseating.

I think some of the media coverage was very biased depending on who was describing the protest. Without actually being there, I wouldn't label them. Corporate greed is what we are facing now in this contract negotiation.

KTPelec is it corporate greed or greed by the Int.Union, the way I look at it the Int. union scored big ,got more money for verba all new jobs at lower Teir they need the dues bad. If you read the Det. News last week the union is running out money, and they sold us out to get it. Now they're in NYC to unionize these LEECHES yes i labeled them because thats what somebody is when you want somebody else to pay for everything you want, check out their demands. They want free college Free Health care 20.00 hr Min.Wage erase all debt world wide. P S this protest was started by a group of anarchists out of Canada, so the Dems are outsourcing their protests.

The guy I saw interviewed was an American worker that had been let go after 20+ years on the job, his job out sourced to foreign interests. He was protesting corporate greed killing US jobs. Sure there were a lot of different ideals being represented there but mostly what was shown was what the corporate controlled media wanted the public to see, not always the whole picture. Hippys? Some of those people are your older relatives or co-workers! LOL I believe the working middle class had more in common with most of those protesters than Wall Street supporters.

If that's true, it is a good answer. It must be lonely as hell though being about the only person that can -legitimately- complain about the parasites and leeches sucking up unemployment, social security and medicare.

There is nothing wrong with people drawing UI. This whole Wall Street fiasco was started by a group of Canadians, who hate the US. Their idea was to start a revolution, like what happened in Egypt, Syria, Lybia, etc.. For the most part the group supporting this movement is a bunch of hippies who hate the US as well. Sure there are some strong points to the arguments of banks not lending and corporate greed ( TO SOME LEVEL) but this movement is BS plain and simple.

Sep 29, 2011 'Days Of Rage' Scary Revolution Chant Led By Princeton Prof. Cornel West by Ann Warren www.postchronicle.com/news/br...12384928.shtmlThe 'Day(s) of Rage' had a special guest this week. Dr. Cornel West showed up to call for and encourage a revolution. He told Wall Street protestors not be scared to call it revolution. What is revolution? "A complete change from one constitution to another". Revolution is a scary word because it suggests that a group of people rise up and overthrow and transform their country. Revolutions also tend to be tied to violence. Dr. Cornel West then went on to lead the audience in a creepy and mechanical chant. Here is what he said: "The elites will tremble in their boots" -audience repeats "And we will send a message" -audience repeats "This is the U.S. Fall" -audience repeats "Responding to the Arab Spring" -audience repeats "It's going to hit Chicago, Phoenix, Los Angeles, A-town, Detroit, it's going to hit our reservations with our red brothers and sisters" -audience repeats "Martin Luther King Jr. will smile from the grave" -audience repeats "We moving step by step" -audience repeats "For what he call a revolution" -audience repeats "Don't be afraid to say revolution" -audience repeats "We want a transfer of power" -audience repeats "From the <inaudible> "for ordinary citizens" -audience repeats "To meet with the poor children of all colors" -audience repeats "and the orphans and the widows and the elderly, and the working folk" -audience repeats "We connect the prison industrial complex" -audience repeats "We connect the military industrial complex" -audience repeats "With wall street and the corporate media multiplex" -audience repeats ----This next part doesn't make so much sense, people start repeating West like robots starting here: "I want to thank you it's a blessing to be a small part of this magnificent gathering" -audience repeats "This is the general assembly consecrated by your witness and your body and your life" -audience repeats Watch below. vimeo.com/29721363

“There is nothing wrong with people drawing UI.” I agree. What gets me is people that have issues with one entitlement while they gladly draw from another one. Btw UI is a part of the social security program, which just allows people to draw from the programs under different circumstances; one for being older and unemployed the other just for being unemployed. I also agree with the main concepts of corporate greed and reforming the political system, but I don’t see this group going anywhere. They do not have political clout, cash or violent tendencies to overthrow anything the way the Arabs have. Besides, if your guess is correct about being hippies and living in basements they will soon disperse to take care of their withdrawal symptoms. It's too bad, because some of their issues really need to be taken care of. I will watch the video later.

Do you guys remember the Tea Baggers when they 1st appeared? They showed up with guns and Hitler signs, and where complaining about the government keeping it hands off of there Medicare. But they where republicans so the right wing and a different view of them.
The main thing these people are protesting is the banks took billion in bailout money and sit on it and are still siting on it.
The money the Automakers got went into the plants and now you see all of them hiring. If you can't see that disconnect your blind or live is some Rush Limbaupig world.

These people in the protest are anti capitalism plain and simple.Did you see the interview Michael moore did at the protest in support of them. This man is the same man that sued over his 911 movie for 2.7 million. His lawyer said. “It’s very sad it had to come to this. Michael believes the Weinsteins have been a force for good when it comes to championing independent film — but that does not give them the right to violate a contract and take money that isn’t theirs. The $2.7 million is just the floor of what we believe is owed.
I guess getting 20 million isnt enough for the anit capitalism Moore. What a ass

Marcus, your argument is not clear. Are you saying that
1. Moore represents the anti wall street movement
2. That he should not be allowed to sue and/or
3. That anti capitalists do not deserve to be wealthy?

These idiots should be looking for jobs. Instead they are enjoying their free room and board in areas that the home-less are ran out of on a daily basis. To work at a fast food joint or retail shop is beyond their expectations, I guess.

Elmer, why do you refer to Patriots by the name of the sex act you like to have performed on yourself. The one person who showed up to a Tea Party with a Hitler sign was a black women who not only is an registered Dem. was running in the Dem. primary that local ditricts seat in Congress. The one man who showed up at another Tea Party with a rifle was also a black Democrat who voted for Obama, but was there because he now regreted that vote because he was upset at obama's gun control attempts. So Elmer try doing some of your own research and THINKING for yourself instead of repeating what Keith Oberman or Ed Schultz tells you to say or Think
