They should desert Ford. For how many years has Ford built 4 door rangers in Australia, and south America? They sat on their ass for decades while every other maker built and sold 4 door pickups. They came to the game very late with the sport trac, but it was too late, and the freaking truck was an abortion when it came to mileage, I know, I had one.
But as we speak, Ford is building a 4 dr ranger in AU, that looks awesome, has a turbo deisel and would, I have no doubt, sell like a champ. But the brain surgeons up north will continue to push the ecoboost that costs as much if not more than the premium on deisel engines, and doesnt deliver the mileage that the deisels do. Just another day at Ford
