Yes I consider myself fortunate to be able to providie for my family. I also know the Obama helped me and my family the facts are there. How many jobs was this country loosening a month before he took office? If it continued at that rate where would this country be? ( depression#2). Somebody took action, not one republican did anything to help! Please all this nonsense about spending is complete BS! And I will kindly point it out to you why, name one republican or democratic to balance the budget in your lifetime?

You do realize that Henry Ford paid a VERY good wage to his employees in 1914 long before the UAW appeared? Unions have become self serving and really not representing its members as its first goal. The only person that can abolish the UAW is its own members, not any politician.
Put it to the test, in a right to work state where membership is not required how is total union membership? If forced membership is the only way to obtain new members or retain existing ones it says little for the organization.

The one thing I left out there is little public support for unions as a whole. As an example if it was posted in the paper that Ford was hiring 1000 people for 1/2 the existing wages people would be lined up from the plant entrance to down town. When people are willing to perform the same task for less money there is little any union can to to "fix" it. The union will go along with it as long as those new hires are dues paying members though....similar to 2nd tier now.
The company knows this and the union knows this also.
Unsustainable benefits not based on sales is another issue with unions. We all ( Ford workers) took a hit and gave back earned benefits because sales were down. Teachers as an example are paid for in tax dollars. When those dollars shrink and their benefits do not its more deficit spending and it has its limits. Chicago is one perfect example of student failure rates that are high and teacher demanding better wages or benefits from a "broke" system that is not self funding. Its settled with them getting raises of 7.9~9.6% over the contract life.
Keep electing people that promises you things or says what you want to hear without any plan or idea of how to pay for any of it and we are in for a very hard fall when the bill is due.

Did you really bring up wages in 1914?*@*? LMAO!!! but really its not funny, without organized labor in place you and I would be making about 15 an hour with little to no benefits. " and the question was asked, are you better off now? Impling we are not because of Obama and his support for unions" Yes labor support is at a all time low but support is still above 50%. It's disturbing to think you believe Ford would pay handsomely for your time without organized labor. ( especially with what we just went thru??*!%#) Actually I think you know they wouldn't but it serves your argument to say that. Unions are not perfect by no stretch but the principles are there. What is union busting legislation? Who is sponsoring it? If you believe only union members can do away with unions you are waaayyy off base. Refer to union busting, but some how I think you already know about it and its intention.

..lets see:
During the Obama administration, and especially during its first two years when Democrats controlled both houses of Congress, UAW couldn't get Democrats to do a fucking thing for us, in fact we got fucked:
....The Employee Free Choice Act, the law that would have eased union organizing drives, was shelved.
....When the Obama administration bailed out(so they say) the auto companies, it dictated wage cuts, plant closings, and tens of thousands of layoffs, and stripped workers’ right to strike.
....The health care bill attacked union-negotiated plans.
....Just asked a two tier UAW brother if he got fucked....under Obamas watch, I may add!
....and that is why, I'm with Cal on this one, "UAW(unions) should stay out of politics"especially when union dues are used to support them.....

You can look at things thru what ever (republican) prism you want. Obama and the dems work with unions and the republicans don't!! The only reason you disagree is because it doesn't fit what you want. Sorry you all fail to face the facts. Unions add value to my life yours too. It's just really sad that you would jeopardize your right to organize for what. I really could not finish that sentence. So the question is why would forsake what you have for what the republicans offer? Lower wages, no benefits, longer hours. ( sweat shop mentality) is there really a answer for regressive thinking? And as far as our brothers that got hire in at lower wages, that is just plain wrong and I do not agree with it. You place the blame on Obama (for a lack of something better to say) that is just stupid, stupid stupid!! We voted of the shit!!! Not Obama!!! That's that stupid shit I'm talking about here! Make up anything!!! Wagged even more tucked up is you be
