Keep up the good work Herb! Everyone at both plants can go to Chicago, huh? Man, that's probably my favorite city...will have to think long and hard about this potential move.

I can see some at any plant wanting to go if they like Chicago as much as I do. Getting $30,000 to move to my favorite city is pretty enticing.

Thats what i thought Drew but a friend mentioned moving last night if they offered the 30k. KTP has a fair number of people that came from up north and may not be too attached to Louisville, so there may be a few that would take it.
It just sounded like a chance to get some of the people that are on ilo a chance to stay in Louisville instead of being forced out of the state and put some money in peoples pocket that would like to go.

You said there are people with recall rights to just about every job in the plant? What in the world does that mean?

yes Beenaround, for me it isn't good. My husband works at LAP, my entire family is here, kids ect.... it's not an option for me to take off to chicago. so i lose everything left of my benefits i worked all these years for if i have to say no. (which i have yet to receive any tap, my sub ran out in December so not like that would be missed at this point.)Then i also read in another thread that Kansas city people will work in our plant before any of us come back? WTH? i just don't understand. Salary get bonus' and 401ks matched we get this? i know it's a great opportunity for people who can pick up and go and i'm thrilled for them. i just wanted to wait it out quietly.

Was given a handout from Eskeridge stating that nobody from ktp would be forced to chicago.....

Was given a handout from Eskeridge stating that nobody from ktp would be forced to chicago..... thats probably incorrect. if anybody on ILO from LAP has more seniority than anybody at KTP. they can bump that person at KTP and force them to make the decision on going to chicago or not.

I keep hearing exactly the same as justaworker's post....if someone on ILO bumps someone at KTP, that person must go to Chicago or lose all benefits is what I'm hearing with the possibility of going to LAP after retool.

Herb gave this answer last night. Was given a handout from Eskeridge stating that nobody from ktp would be forced to chicago..... thats probably incorrect. if anybody on ILO from LAP has more seniority than anybody at KTP. they can bump that person at KTP and force them to make the decision on going to chicago or not. Herb, Do the ILO employees have to go to Chicago or lose their job? No they do not. If you choose to say no to go to Chicago and can not roll anyone at KTP, then you will loose the rest of your SUB or TAP, plus the insurance you have left. You will have recall rights to LAP as long as the number of years you have seniority, or 18months, which ever is greater, so you are all good. Herb BC

Maybe a few volunteers will sign up. Some people from areas like Detroit may be looking for a chance to go back north. So, you never know. Hope for the best in this situation.

well, if they need 1200, we have 230 something on ilo....so....isn't there alot of other union members on ilo?.....wouldn't they get enough to where no-one would be forced?

First off a big THANK YOU to Hibbs for coming on this forum and passing on information and answering questions. Now for my question... I heard today, that if and when the KC people come to follow the Escape production they will not only bring their full seniority, they also will bring their classifications with them as well. Is this true?

well, if they need 1200, we have 230 something on ilo....so....isn't there alot of other union members on ilo?.....wouldn't they get enough to where no-one would be forced? There are less than 400 people laid off around the Ford system. Chicago does not have anyone laid off. The entire second shift was temporaries so when they eliminated the second shift, no UAW/Ford employees would be effected. Herb BC
