Chairperson Update - 04/04/10
Vacation Shutdown : Contrary to what the CJ has been putting in the paper, the
company advised the Union in accordance with Article IX, Section 25 (b) that the
Louisville Assembly Plant will be taking a vacation shutdown. The shutdown
period is now confirmed for the weeks of 7/5/2010 and 8/9/2010. The CJ must
be reporting the cancellation of down weeks related to production which was
announced several weeks ago.

Chicago Assembly Plant Timing: According to the Chairperson of CAP, the timing
on the actual shift addition is in November but the will begin to train
employees in June. There also is a line speed increase beginning the last week
of June to the 1st week of July. That adds about 65 jobs to the plant. The
Company is telling us the posting should be in April. Chicago Assembly has
recently recalled some of its laid off members and planning to recall the rest
very soon.

We have brochures for Apartments and Housing in NE Indiana at the Gettelfinger
Hall. Just ask the Secretary. Thanks to Tim Priest who picked them up on his
visit there.

Union Meeting : April 13, Fern Valley Union Hall at 12pm and 6pm. At this
meeting we will be taking nominations for 35th Constitutional Convention and
un-expired term of Trustee. Elections will take place April 25th through April
27th.

Yoga Classes : Class Week Days: Tuesday and Thursday, Class Start and End
Dates: April 6th thru June 24th, 2010, Class Start Time: 4:45 pm – 5:45 pm,
Class Location: LAP Union Hall, 3000 Fern Valley Rd – Small Hall. Location may
change with class size.

What sense does it make to not have consecutive weeks? KTP has two in a row like they have done for the last 50+ years.

Jumping the gun a little bit there Scott are we? KTP opened in 1969, this is 2010 and if my math serves me right that is only 41 years. LOL, that's OK though you are forgiven.

Don't want to split hairs here Scott, oh hell I will split them. Just go easy on me, I only have a small hand-full of hairs left on my head.

In your previous post, as I have put here. You stated that KTP has two in a row like they have done for the last 50+ years.

I merely pointed out the fact that KTP HAS ONLY been open for 41 years. I didn't see it yesterday about FOMOCO or the UAW in your post. I will agree with you that FORD IN LOUISVILLE has more than likely done the two week deal for a long time but I remember last year that LAP split the vacation weeks up as well. Last year I would guess would be because of the down time they suffered. No reason to do it this year that I can find.

And yes, FOMOCO has been in operation here locally for 50+ years:)
