Weekly Update April 8, 2010
Order Bank: Explorer 4829, Mountaineer 464, Sport Trac 407, Total 5700
Union Meeting : April 13, Fern Valley Union Hall at 12pm and 6pm. At this
meeting we will be taking nominations for 35th Constitutional Convention
and un-expired term of Trustee. Elections will take place April 25th
through April 27th.
Vacation Shutdown Confirmed: The plants summer vacation shutdown weeks are
July 5th and August 9th.
Kings Island Tickets: All UAW/Ford employees are eligible for discount
tickets to Kings Island. Please go to the following link
www.visitkingsisland.com/fordworkers and purchase your tickets online.
Opening Day is April 17 for the weekends and week days start in June.
Please verify on web site.
KTP Rework Program: We have addressed several overtime concerns over the
past weeks. We must follow the Overtime Supplementation procedure for the
different Classification in the Predelivery Department. The Local Contract
is accessible from any plant computer on the Human Resource page,
www.uawlap.org web site and if needed, copies from your committeeperson. No
outside personnel is doing any rework in our facility, however, KTP has set
up an offsite location by the their plant where some of our retirees have
been called to assist in the rework. Again this is KTP work, we have been
asked to help.
NCAA Bracket Winners: Winner- Donald Dewilde with 83 points ( 280 dollars)
2nd Place - Kevin Motley with 79 Points ( 70 dollars). Donut Sale
raised 325 dollars for March of Dimes. Make a Wish will be selling fresh
water pearl necklaces for 10 dollars with all proceeds going to the foundation.
50 -50 Winners, Sheila Carter 125 dollars, Missouri 125 dollars Wanda
Mason 125 dollars.
LAP Last Day: Tentatively, LAP last official day is still Nov. 24, 2010.
Sport Trac should be about a month sooner. We are going through a lot as a
plant that we have never seen or been through before. Reductions in
classifications of some high seniority off line operations, line speed
reductions in different areas, and end of the quarter balance outs. More
changes are coming as the Explorer comes to an end very soon. What is about
to take place here at LAP is new Ground Breaking territory for Ford, LAP
and all of us.
Chicago Info: We have not heard anything about the Volunteer Job Posting,
as soon as we do, we will let everyone know. The tentative start date is
still around the first of June. There is no tour this Friday. The next available
opportunity is Monday April 12th,and Friday 16th. If anyone is interested
contact Ralph Napier at 3674. Spouses are welcome to attend also.
“STOP” Walkers/Runners : As the weather changes, and we know everyone
is getting into shape by walking or running around the plant. Please
remember that you are not allowed to walk thru or in RED LINE AREAS inside
or outside the plant. Please re-route your exercise area to avoid these
areas immediately.
TLO Surveys: The top 60 seniority employees are being surveyed to see if
they want to take 30 day TLOs. Some non-production classification are being
offered the 30 day TLO because their job is being eliminated, and not
replaced or the classification they would bump back to is full. The reason
for the 30 day TLO is because if we have a lot sign up to leave for Chicago
or accept bids we can bring them back and cover operations at that time. If
none of the above happen, then they will be renewed on 30 day intervals.
Red Cross Blood Drive: Red Cross will be having their annual plant blood drive
April 21. You must notify your Supervisor that you are interested in giving
by April 14. Blood supply is real low here locally in our community, so if
you can donate please take the time to share.
Direct Deposit : LAP has done a great job with getting everyone signed
into the computer, passwords and lesson on how to access their pay stubs.
We still have some glitches with home computers because of firewalls
blocking Ford’s site from uploading the link. You must give access to
your firewall and pop up blockers to be able to access.
UAW Bass Tournament: “DATE CHANGE” The UAW Bass tournament is open to
all UAW Hourly and Retirees, who pay dues and is a member good standing.
Everyone in the boat must be card carrying members. The Tournament is May
16, at Barren River Lake, Starts at 7am. Entry fee is 60 dollars per boat.
Deadline to pay entry fee is May 10, must be received at the UAW Fern
Valley union hall.
Remember to save your money UAW
