did anybody Else read the post that had an article from the business journal about our plant manager saying to the Rotary club that our retool would last 18 MONTHS!! I sure hope he was misquoted or we have been misled again. Because if its going to last that long you kiss goodbye being on TLO , I would bet that they will put us on ILO

I was told that the plant last day before retooling was on Nov. 23 2010. Would be back up running two shifts in Sept. of 2011.

The only honest answer...no one knows. Lets say they gut the whole plant...and then many problems occur which add months to the retool. There is no clear answer to how long the retool will take. Everything Ford does is "tentative"...their favorite word.

Good point, he could have meant 18 from now we will running full steam with the new product.

Cuautitlan was down from Dec. 23, 2008 and comes back next week... that's almost 16 months.

The current plan is still to run the last Explorer November 23, 2010 and launch the new product on two shift in the 4th quarter of 2011. The BC just reviewed the the tentative plan last week and met with the New Director of Manufacturing for NA- Car and SUV yesterday.

Hey Steve. When are we gonna run the last Sport Trac and when is the mix of explorer/sport trac's gonna change back to normal? This mix is kicking my butt!
