GAS ALERTS: Do you want to know when gas is getting ready to jump .05
cents or more. Our Local union retailer, www.meijer.com has set up an
automatic text page to your cell. Go to the web site, type in gas station
in the search window and go to Gas Alerts, type in your phone number and
your good to go.
UAW Bass Tournament: “DATE CHANGE” The UAW Bass tournament is open to all
UAW Hourly and Retirees, who pay dues and is a member good standing.
Everyone in the boat must be card carrying members. The Tournament is May
16, at Barren River Lake, Starts at 7am. Entry fee is per boat. Deadline
to pay entry fee is May 10, must be received at the UAW FernValley union
hall.
Call your Senators: This week your senators had two chances to stand up to
Wall Street and take the first step toward reining in the big banks. But
what did Sens. McConnell and Bunning do? They actually decided to stand
WITH Wall Street, against the millions of American families who want real
reform of the big banks.
Sens. McConnell and Bunning and every single Republican Senator voted
twice this week to block a bill that would finally start imposing some real
checks on Wall Street's out of control behavior. Can you call Sens.
McConnell and Bunning and tell them that you are deeply disappointed that
they are protecting Wall Street instead of supporting the Wall Street
reform bill?
Senator Mitch McConnel Phone: 202-224-2541
Senator Jim Bunning Phone: 202-224-4343
Rumor Facts: Clarification– There was a slim chance we could be down the
week of May 10, but currently we are scheduled full production and no other
down weeks are scheduled. LAP Explorer last day is still Nov. 24.
