Is this true or just some KTP plot to try to scare us back to LAP?

147 total have signed up as of this morning.
I am sure this will one day turn into a "Damnit Kessinger said".
But if.....if..IF......IF the future letter concerning RTBU rights is written as the current one is, then you could turn down this opportunity down and be asked again at some point in the future if LAP were to hire again. IF....IF......IF that letter is the same next contract. But they would not have to ask you again for this opportunity they can hire to fill all shifts if need be.

Really? Are you all serious with all this whining and crying? I was at KTP for 13 years, signed up for LAP three years ago with the group of 100 that went. Just had faith and signed up blind. Best decision I ever made. Wipe your nose, dry your tears...
Fact is, sure you might start on nights, sure you might start on a shitty job. Fact is, that is all temporary, there is always an opportunity to bid, to roll, to get a better job. I started here in Chassis, bid to Paint, then bid to Body when we go back. Get over yourself, leave your committee man alone and do what's best for you in the long haul.
If you want to be Chicken Little, sit back quietly with your WhaaBurger and your French Cries and think about how you will be kicking yourself in the ass a year from now.
For those who quickly signed up, congratulations and welcome back!

At the end of business last night there were only 65 people that said No on returning. Also, there were a total of 255 people that said yes to returning to LAP. As of this posting labor is still calculating the final numbers.

Ok, I'm not sure I have this right BUT...it's my understanding(from the Union Meeting @ KCAP) that the "follow the product" are the first to go, but not in the case of KCAP..it's going by Seniority between the "follows" and the "RTBU's". I know in the end that's how it all ends up, everyone falls in line of seniority. AND now Skillled Trades they don't know when they are going to let them go because their numbers are down!! AND the typical answer to all questions is "they are working on it!" . It was asked about bringing on Apprentices ..."They are working on it", yada yada yada! So still waiting and waiting and waiting!

With the bit of drama surrounding 249 nominations I did miss out on a bit of the meeting. But, what I took from it was there is a delay in the tooling of LAP because they had to use parts to keep MAP running because someone ordered cheap crap from china. And we could quite possibly be running the Escape at KCAP unil March of next year.

Apprentice yea I know, that's an animal that is extinct at Ford! The reason the question was ask was because they say they can't let Skilled Trades go yet is because they are short of Electr. and Pipefitters now. So the question was ask to see what kind of response would be given on letting us go to LAP and replacing the ones at KCAP. Same answer...."they are working on it" I bet they say that in their sleep !

They will delay it till the sept contracts and then there will be only 2 classification of skilled trades to deal with.

The last sub-council meeting established that no apprentices have been added to Ford roles since 2007, by the end of 2011 no apprentice's will exist in the ford system....A side note... As long as KTP , or any other plant, pulls production people off the line and makes them trades people (pool workers) the apprenticeship program is dead....Why go by test scores or seniority, when the company can screen an applicant for an indefinite period of time as a temporary worker, why spend the money on apprentice's....They can string a temporary worker along for years... great process. Walter Reuther is rolling over in the grave
