Not sure what this means yet:
Referrals at KTP The Kentucky Truck Plant is building a candidate pool that could be utilized to fill future potential openings for Long Term Supplemental employees, if the plant has the opportunity to hire externally.
I have called the NFD and the Region and this would happen only after the company has exhausted the Placement Hierarchy., App N.

You know they have something up their sleeves...but I don't see many people getting hired after all transfers, etc... Not to mention the possibility of yet another plant being closed in the next contract? It's hard to believe, but there are still LOTS of people on the street willing to work for Ford for $14 an hour...well, until they start working in trim. LOL Heaven forbid they get hired in June and start the 1st week after shutdown...talk about a rude awakening. At least I did get hired in Feb...not too hot of a start. Actually wore blue jeans in trim...

Yeah, I think it is kind of weird they are building a candidate pool. The only reason I think is that they totally deleted everybody that was in it before. I know of a bunch of people who want to work at FORD for $14/hour plus the excellent benefits. I'm sure most of the people who took the buyout would come back for that. I know several people who blew their money within a month. The first thing the bought was a car!!! LOL...The individuals I know of are very unhappy at what they are doing. I know of one who started a pizza business, but it failed. I admire him for doing it, though. Besides, I think they know that eventually the UAW will increase the pay rate and benefits over time. I bet, though, FORD is going re-hire several of the employees who did take the buyout. Now I know there many individuals who did take they buyout, started a business, went to school or just decided to do nothing. I think everybody just needs to be prepared that the auto industry is still fragile. Even though, the GM and FORD have posted very profitable quarters, they still have massive debts. You probably heard the Chrysler group paid off it debt to our government, but you didn't know they took out new loans from Chinese banks and European bonds. Basically what they did is paid off one credit card and put in on a lower interest rate and terms.

This candidate pool will also be a source for temp workers if ever they should need them......as Scott posted, they are doing it for some reason.

Too funny they do this for production workers, but for trades they pull off the line.....I don't get it, can't they pull from people from clean up, make them production pool workers? Someone would have to explain this
