When we do this lottery can we get a print out of who got hired and who referred them.Just so we can keep this a real Lottery and not a who you know thing? in the ford system or anywhere else it's who you know , not what you know . you should have learned this when you got into the work force. that is why scott said you won't see the list.

It's pretty obvious that 400 to 500 new hires that have some kind of relationship with the plant manager down to UAW 862 custodians will have the opportunity for jobs FIRST at FORD than somebody who is a "nobody". I'll have to admit that I remember in my class that I came in, most of the workers new somebody in higher up. Of all the people in my group of around 40, there are only 3 of us left. One was fired twice for attendance and drugs, but always got his job back. He took the buy-out, but I'm sure he will be back. If I get a chance to give a referal, I'm looking for a person who thinks working at Ford will be a career. They will need to understand that there will be many Saturdays scheduled for several years. They won't be a winer about everything. They will have to know they will be at the 2 tier pay level for awhile. They will have to know they will be on nights for about 15 years. I think having previous factory experience would be good because many people don't like robot work.

Unless they were a very young person just starting in the work force I would not even tell any of my friends to try & get a job here at $14.00/hr, the kind of work they will have to do as a new hire is not worth that. I hired in at $13, but that was 18 years ago, very good money back then & even then it felt like it was going to kill me at times, no way I would have stayed for 7 or 8/hr, that has to be about what 14 is like now.

I did the math and I think starting pay for me was $18.5/hour. Now, doing some figuring, it would be around $180/week less at the $14/hour rate. That's $720/month and $8640/year less than at the $18/hour rate. Now, I didn't figure in overtime and other things like insurance benefits, retirement, etc. I'll have to admit these days that sounds really good and I'll have to admit that if I didn't have a skill, $14/hour sounds very good to start out. Now how many years would it take to get $18 plus? I've heard 3, but not sure. I've been off work right now for almost 2 years (I'M ENJOYING EVERY BIT OF IT), but it kinda sucks having to $300plus for health insurance. New hires get that free like us right? I'm just kind of surprised that people currently employeed will think nobody would work for FORD. Like I mentioned before, I know several people would love to start at $14/hour. I have 2 friends are willing to take a $4/hour pay-cut to get the golden egg..

I had someone interested in my referral, but after telling her the details, they passed. She is making over $30,000 working the front desk of a medical center...I told her to stay in the air conditioning.

Yeah, front desk and air conditioning and 30K/year..I would do that!! However, I just heard just last week that over 90 percent of people don't really tell truth about their income. I like my 60k/year and eventually the UAW will boost that pay of 14/hour starting up unless we get a good signing bonus **bribe**. I'm just saying that WHAS 11 announces that FORD is hiring, I'm sure there will be a bunch wanting to get a job. However, I saw that GM is only hiring through the referral process. Though, I've never known anybody who was basically hired off the street. Everybody I've know were hired through the referral. I'm sure you are out there, though.

I think the new hires top out at $15ish and very limited benefits... I might be mistaken. Ask the guys in Chi. how the temps there are working out. LTS are temps and not 2nd teir people I was told.
