How do I figure out how much concrete I need for a 12x12x8 room.Concrete floor and roof also.This will be underground

I've been out of school a long time but I think this is how it goes. Concrete is sold by the cubic yard (1yd x 1yd x 1yd) however we measure in feet so one cubic yard measured in feet would be 3ft x 3ft x3ft which equals 27 cubic feet, thus 1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet. Just figure your cubic feet (in your example you did not state how thick your walls would be) then simply divide by 27.
To convert cubic feet to cubic yards simply divide the cubic feet by 27.

My husband just told me that a yard of concrete is 1yd x 1yd x 4 inches. Sorry for wrong info. I'm female and don't do concrete work but can still do math, even if I did go to school in Shepherdsville! Hopefully someone with a little experience will get on here and tell you the right formula. Good luck with your project.
