Brothers and Sisters,
We are experiencing EXTREME heat in the area. Please remember to stay hydrated and work
safe.
Currently the order bank is:
Super Duty 24,001
Expedition 11,828
Navigator 1,772
State Fair Volunteers- This year the plant will be taking volunteers to work in 4 hour blocks.
This will be during your own time and each one that volunteers will be given a golf shirt plus 2
admission tickets. You will not be excused from working your normal work hours. The sign up
book will be up in Labor Relations. You will need to sign a time slot and put your shirt size and
your contact phone number.
Labor Day Picnic- The 12th Annual Labor Day Picnic & Car Show and the Louisville Zoo will
be on Labor Day Monday September 5, 2011. Tickets are available both Union Halls and Mark
Baker has them as well. If you would like to enter a car in the car show the entry fee is $25. It is
open to all Pre 2002 model year cars. Registration is 8:00 am to 11:30 am and lunch will be
served. Also, there will be cash prizes given away as well.
National & Local Negotiations- As you know Scott Eskridge has gone to Detroit for National
Negotiations. Local Negotiations will begin on 8/8/11. During this time the Bargaining
Committee, Skilled Trade's Chairman and I (Rodney Janes, Royce Epperson, Bryan Kessinger
and David Guest) will be negotiating our local contract. While we are in negotiations John
Jaggers and Allen Hughes will be acting Bargaining Committee. Bill Johnston will be acting
night shift Building Chairman.
Fitness Challenge Kentuckiana Metro on the Move- Employees are encouraged to visit
www.khcollaborative.org. The company will distribute a bulletin that explains the sign up
procedure and purpose of the challenge. Prizes will be available and it is a good way to get fit.
Schedule- The plant will be on a build number of 1,229 split between two shifts for the week of
7/25/2011. This should be 8.2 or less off the end of chassis.
Job Posting Transfers- approximately 75 people have signed up to come to KTP.
LAP Bid Jobs- Next week I will have a list of the BID winners for the employees going back to
LAP. Tentatively the plans are to start moving people back sometime in September
LAP RTBU- The first wave of employees returning to LAP will begin in September. As we
receive exact dates, I will communicate it to the membership.
In Solidarity,
Rodney Janes
