Hi guys n gals. First post here. Love the forum. I'm sorry, but my Committeeman briefly flashed the list in front of my face, so I don't know the exact numbers, but from what I saw.... There were, I believe, 863 total people transferring to either LAP, KTP, & the Chicago plants. 76 are going to KTP... i'm certain of that, because i'm one of them. Other than that, somewhere around 700 going to LAP. Sorry, but I don't know the exact numbers. That is all I know.

yes! the # is 756 for LAP. Everyone who signed is going. I did see a handful of names however , (appx 6) with lines through them and i truly hope they were crossed out for hardship reasons and withdrew on their own, rather than being denied by the company for bad record, medicals, attendance,etc...

Unfortunately when we go back to work there will be enough of our own people playing the medical game again .

moelap; from what I have been told. Those of us (rtbu) going back to lap will be placed in the department that we were in when we left. Sorry I can't give you any better news. Not sure if you will be given a chance to get into another department.

Not sure if you will be given a chance to get into another department. Thanks for all the info....Just hoped we would get a chose in dept. we wanted to go to....Paint, body and many positions in material handling not to mention utility positions were not filled by the 1000 people that stayed at LAP....New people coming in from other plants do they get to choose where they want to go? Do they get to go to the dept they were working in at their home plant? I feel we should be able to bid on any dept. we want to go to and go by seniority to fill those positions....Not sure if I'll get any answers but just wanted to vent!!!!

Over 95% of paint are bid jobs now with very few assembler jobs open. Tack off, body sanders and a couple assembler jobs on sealer deck. All or most have already been filled. Body assemblers will be available but probably go by seniority as it should. Good luck.

Over 200 are coming from up the road, in Indy. I think quite a few from KC. The rest are coming from plants with uncertain futures who have a surplus of workers.

Yea 6 is NOT right if that is Kansas City, I know there are 11 pipefitters, theres millwrights, electricians, carpentars, and lots of production. I'm not sure of all the numbers but I do know of the 11 pipefitters!

KCAP, had 9 people sign up..1=CAP,1=CSP,1KTP, 6LAP===9 these were only production folks. A total of 33 facilities had people sign and the total out of all them = 873. Just didn't feel the need to jot them all down as most of them i left out were small numbers.

Wow, now LAP is a Bastard plant like KTP, everyone from everywhere is right here in Kentucky now. And when all of you get in LAP together watch out, because it will be as nasty as it was at KTP years ago when everyone started coming to KTP. Good luck because the confussion is about to hit 6 th gear

Yea, I copy that... I hired in at KTP before transferring to LAP 3 years ago. I remember all the people coming to KTP from Ohio and later from Atlanta. The worst thing was listening to all their bitching and whining... "We don't do it like this in Ohio" or "We don't do it like this in Atlanta" or "Your union here sucks, I would not put up with this in Ohio" etc... Of course the answer from a KTP'er was, "This is not Ohio, or Atlanta... And you suck, that is why they closed your plant."
There will definitely be a culture shock. When I came in to LAP, I kept my head down, did my job and had no worries... I think the only people who care if the union sucks or not are the people who need them... Do your job the best you can, don't be a slug it will be home sweet home...
Personally, I look forward to some new faces. It can be really monotonous working with the same people year after year after year after year....
