kbrundag, Out of the four Ohio plants that sent people down to KTP in 1997 and 1998 not one of them were closed. As of right now only one of them (Lorain) is now closed. How are them apples?

jeter3000 I'm not sure where you got your numbers but there's a total of 167 from KCAP, production and trades signed up to transfer. I know for a fact all 10 pipefitters signed up to go to LAP and I think (not sure) but I heard 10 electricians signed up to go to LAP. All the others I'm not sure where they signed up to go but the majority is going to LAP.

Blah, Blah, Blah, see what I mean? Always has to be an argument. Just can't settle in and be happy... Apples to Oranges... Cut in production, Product Elimination, Plant Closings, whatever... Fact is Louisville is booming and always has been... Louisville is the Apple in Ford's eye for a reason. The faster all the newbies become a part of that the better... Louisville is hiring, everywhere else is firing... Bastard Plants my ass, we're the Melting Pot and your assimilation will be complete... Attachments:

Hey Lefty, No; the list does not have KTP transfers on it. According to this sheet KTP is not one of the 33 facilities with the option to transfer to LAP. I see in a couple posts ahead where the bickering is starting with (your plant sucks and thats why it shut down non-sense) please.. dont feed into these type's of insecurities of others. We all know "Ford will do what is best for Ford" and unfortunately many times JOB1/ Quality is not even a factor. Good luck to all transfers and their families as well as the workers welcoming them.

Yea, Yea, Yea, coulda, woulda, shoulda... I like to put the fear of God into my children sometime too, doesn't mean I'm gonna kill them. It's not important what was a hair away from happening. Louisville is what it is now...
Please don't misconstrue any of my previous comments... I look forward to all the new people, near and far. With all the relocation, I honestly feel we all will see retirement here in Louisville. My point with the newbies is just to bring a good attitude, a good work ethic and the thought in the back of your head that you Volunteered to be here. Leave your negativity and bad politics at the door and we all will have an enjoyable experience.
To jeter300, I'm sorry you misunderstood. (your plant sucks and thats why it shut down non-sense) was simply comments made in the past to some of those people who volunteered to move to KTP, who brought their negativity with them. Those type of comments are in no way intended for those good, quality, hard working individuals we will be having the pleasure to know in the near future...

Yea, I copy that... I hired in at KTP before transferring to LAP 3 years ago. I remember all the people coming to KTP from Ohio and later from Atlanta. The worst thing was listening to all their bitching and whining... "We don't do it like this in Ohio" or "We don't do it like this in Atlanta" or "Your union here sucks, I would not put up with this in Ohio" etc... Of course the answer from a KTP'er was, "This is not Ohio, or Atlanta... And you suck, that is why they closed your plant." There will definitely be a culture shock. When I came in to LAP, I kept my head down, did my job and had no worries... I think the only people who care if the union sucks or not are the people who need them... Do your job the best you can, don't be a slug it will be home sweet home... Personally, I look forward to some new faces. It can be really monotonous working with the same people year after year after year after year.... I can back kbrundag up on the Ohio stuff. I remember alot of the ones that left Lorain and went down and I sure don't blame Kentucky for sending their behinds back. I can speak personally to meeting some good guys from Missouri while I was in Lorain and I truly hope to fit in once I report to Louisville. I've never been on medical nor have I ever had a restriction. I don't expect anything and I'm thankful to be able to continue working for Ford while being able to get out of Ohio and it's winters ;D This looks like the most secure spot within the company and I just want to be where I can finally put the plant closure crap behind me. I don't know what Ford's plans for OHAP are, but I don't feel it's chances are that great so when the chance to move came I jumped on it. I sincerely hope not to be singled out and I really hate to hear the stories of those that are. I come to work, I don't cause trouble and I'm not AWOL. OHAP is officially releasing 91. Of those, 78 chose LAP and 8 chose KTP with the rest going to Chicago.

Congratulations, I will be working in the body shop, I look forward to working with you, and if not you, someone like you. People like you make working at Ford a pleasure.
I don't think anyone will be singled out for where they came from. It will be attitude and work ethic. God knows LAP has it's share of slugs and wastes of a good paycheck, and they are treated accordingly...

There's 18 of us coming from WHSP. We're in the same boat, oh2ky. I don't thing either plant has a future. After all, we are tied together. I plan to get to LAP, hopfully in the body shop since it'd be what I am already somewhat familiar with, & keep my mouth shut. My first goal is to make as much $$ as possible, hope my house up here sells & I can get my family down there ASAP. I just want to work & be treated fairly. That's all I ask.

Yep...definitely tied together. I've been in Econoline trim since day one so I can guarantee where I will end up.... ;D Like I mentioned before. The LAPer's can rest easy that I am not a slug.....I'm very anti-slug. Hoping my house sells as well and that I can bring my family down as quickly as possible too. OHAP is sending 78 to Louisville.
