Hey guys, had a few questions for you about the building of the superduty trucks, i was going through the build and price on the ford site and a few of the option restrictions made me wonder why and if there was anywhere to make a suggestion about them. First, to get the premium package on the XLT it limits you to the chrome clad aluminum wheels only, the other style is what i really wanted but if i select that i can't get the package. Other thing is only one radio choice with the XLT, the audiophile or the nav. system isn't offered, if the customer orders it and is willing to pay for it, why not make it an option?? I know you guys are probably just workers and probably can't do anything about it but do you have a contact to someone i could voice some suggestions to? Last thing is the new car smell....is it sprayed in or just the smell of the new seats and carpet?

I might suggest you go to a dealer and see if you can special order your truck with your options. The new car/truck smell as far as I am aware of is not sprayed in, it is the new equipment in the vehicle. Good Luck

New car smell is the result of VOC's(Volatile Organic Compounds) emitting from the plastics and other materials that make up the interior of a new vehicle.
They dissipate after a few months.

I agree [mitcht] FORD has the worst option selections ever. on my previous FORDS on my expeditions i had to get an eddie bauer package just to get a moon roof or heated seats. Ford just wants you to over pay for options you want with options that you dont want but they would sell more vehicles if they offered those options seperate. Hey but what do we know thats why they over pay dum ass Mullualy for these stupid ass decisions. I just went to look at new explorer and for the options i want it was going to cost $48,000 for an EXPLORER they can kiss my ass and they are trying to cut our pay again. WOW!!!!!!!!! we cant afford our own products
