KTP – Chairperson Report
Union Meeting 08/16/2011
Current Order Bank: Super Duty 33,439 – Expedition 3,328 – Navigator 997
Total: 37,764 Units
The Production Schedule for this week (beginning on 08/15/11) is up to 1230 units per
day off of Chassis (approximately an 8.2 hour schedule).
The tentative schedule for next week (beginning on 08/22/11) is up to 1260 units per
day off of Chassis (approximately an 8.4 hour schedule), and for the following week
beginning on 08/29/11 the tentative schedule is up to 1377 units per day off of Chassis
(approximately a 9.3 hour schedule). The reason for the low production numbers for this
week is due to the balance out of the Expedition/Navigator.
Our recent visit from UAW Vice-President Jimmy Settles went very well. Unfortunately
he was unable to visit with as many areas in the plant as he would have liked because
his individual conversations took much longer than anticipated.
The main concerns
voiced by the membership were as follows:
1. The Equity of Sacrifice Grievance being unresolved
2. The Reinstatement of COLA
3. Overdue Pay Raises
4. It was a consensus that we must get back what we have given up in concessions
An update on the Equity of Sacrifice Grievance: I have received a message from
Rodney Janes who is currently attending the National Ford Council meeting. He
indicated that forward progress is being made on the grievance and that it is going to be
handled separately and not a part of the current negotiations. More information will be
outlined in his National Ford Council Report upon his return.
Rodney also reported that UAW Vice-President Jimmy Settles indicated that in the
upcoming strike vote all members should get out and vote in order to send a strong
message to the Company.
There are several tentative Saturdays scheduled, we do not have confirmed dates yet,
and as soon as they are confirmed we will pass this information onto the membership.
We recently received 13 members from LAP that were on ILO who transferred as a
result of the recent Zone Job Postings. We welcome them and are glad to have them at
KTP.
We have approximately 76 total transfers (the 13 recent LAP transfers are included in
this number) that are coming to KTP from other locations. The next group of 23 is
tentatively expected to arrive on August 29th. The remaining 40 are tentatively expected
to arrive during the month September. The actual date has not yet been confirmed;
however the plant has asked to get them as early as September 12th.
The Shift Rolls are currently frozen, but if you made a Crew Preference Request before
the 07/31/11 sign up deadline and have the seniority in order to do so your request will
be honored.
Tentatively there are 3 Production RTBU employees that will be reporting back to LAP
this month. 1 on 08/22/11, and 2 on 8/29/11.
There are 38 more that are tentatively scheduled to report back to LAP in September.
36 on 09/05/11 and 2 on 09/19/11
I want to thank them for the good job that they have done while at KTP and wish them
luck with their new assignments at LAP.
At this time we do not have firm dates as to when the rest of the RTBU employees will
be reporting back to LAP. We will make this information available as soon as we receive
it.
Skilled Trades RTBU employees that are going back to LAP are tentatively scheduled to
return to LAP as follows: 1 Pipefitter on 08/22/11, 1 Pipefitter on 10/03/11, 1 Toolmaker
on 12/05/11, and 2 Electricians on 01/02/12.
In Solidarity,
Royce Epperson
