To all you so called "union" members who are planning to vote No this contract, I say I will believe it when I see it happen. It is quite easy for anyone to run their mouth on a forum and yet another thing to actually stand behind their voice.
Every day I deal with so called "union" individuals working at KTP ON THEIR OWN TIME (some times as much as an hour a day, even more) and CUTTING CORNERS (to keep the job up because its overloaded) AND WORKING UNSAFELY just to GET HOT TIME (because they have ruined a job permanently, so they use unsafe equipment and do whatever it takes to get out early for that smoke and a beer). Way to cut jobs. I counted up 1 area alone and estimated that at 1 hour a day per team member equaled 1 job eliminated. WAY TO GO MY FELLOW UAW. When I have confronted these individuals about their shady practices their response to me was typical cowardly behavior, "Get out of my face"
SCABS...Nothing but a bunch of SCABS. I say quit running your mouth on these forums and start standing up by DOING YOUR JOB IN AN ACCEPTABLE PACE AND BY WORKING SAFELY!!! Sadly most jobs have been ruined and eliminated by these people and their cowardice.
Ford loves hot time as much as these "union" members do. It makes managements job easier when it comes to job elimination.
Frankly I see too many Ford shirts and not enough UAW shirts in the plant.
Don't get me started on this "Built without your tax dollars" stuff either. You would think these people would understand how many tax incentives KTP alone has received during the life of the plant's existence.
Believe it or not, That is the current status of the majority of the UAW at KTP.
Thanks a lot, SCABS!

Wow, quite the post. First off, we arent on strike, so there arent any scabs working in the plant. Suck asses? Sure. As far as voting no on the contract, lets see what is proposed first. If the concessions arent returned, then its a no from me. As far as counting your co-workers work time, why dont you worry about your job, theyll hang themselves in time. We all know the burnouts and the drunks are the first ones to take on work, because they dont want to have the boss bird-dogging them. As far as the shirts, I dont know about you, but I work at Ford, the UAW works off my dime, and those tax incentives you seem so put out with helped put work in both Louisville plants. Chill out, your bitterness is depressing.

For those of you potential SCABS wearing those "Built Without Your Tax Dollars" Ford shirts…you should start trying to think more like a UAW member and realize that you have been subjected to a bit of brainwashing! www.tradeandindustrydev.com/tid/ford-motor-company-louisville-kentucky-2345finance.yahoo.com/news/Ky-county-disputes-taxes-owed-apf-1255963921.html?x=0www.greaterlouisville.com/content/community/FYI/pdf/files/$60%20million%20in%20tax%20breaks%20ok'd%20for%20ford%20truck%20plant.pdf And they are planning to hire two new employees "two-tier wage" in place of one, paying them half the wages and at significantly reduced benefits, in order to "retain the jobs" of the original agreement for these tax incentives. The "training new workers" part of the agreement consists of the creative tactic I call "the shuffle" implemented by management at Ford of training current employees on different operations in the plant…as a senior employee, when is the last time you signed a paper stating you learned a new operation? Then on top of that, the jobs on the line are being cut out, the workers who remain are getting more work added to their jobs, then these "UAW members" are reporting to work early and working through their breaks and lunch to work "for hot time" that management is documenting so they can cut more jobs from the line, the break time has already been reduced, the contractual agreements are changed mid-contract "on a whim", no need for a vote, benefits are being reduced bit-by-bit, while the "UAW members" are running like crazy to keep up! What The Hell Happened Here People? Where did the monies from these tax incentives go? Where is the money you lost from what you have given up already? Where is the Equipment Improvements at KTP? Have you looked at the Fork Lifts? Why can't maintenance keep the body shop running so the plant can produce vehicles? What happened to the maintenance department? What happened to the Clean Up jobs? WAKE THE HELL UP!!!! I would guess that you have already decided that you will cross the picket line. Hopefully there really are a few true UAW members left that are willing to stand up and fight for fair wages and benefits for a fair day's work. What do you SCABS plan on giving up for this upcoming "contract"? I have an idea!!! GIVE UP THOSE STUPID SHIRTS!

What is "Hot Time"?

It's the time one takes while the line is running to eat a sandwich, take a drink, do a crossword, read a book, maybe have a smoke, etc. It's part of Ford and always has been. Some would choose for us to operate like robots.
If I'm on lockdown for 10 hours, I choose to make it a comfortable 10 hours. Problem with KTP is team concept, where some little Bitch has to worry about what everyone else is doing... Well guess what? All that watching a wondering must be during your own hot time... Scabs, yea I have scabs, from all those Watchmen chewing on my nuts...

It doesn't take a psychology major to figure out that if you are more concerned about other people, then yourself, you have major issues with your personal life. If I worried about what everybody else was doing at work, I'd go nuts!

Sounds like a company man trying to get us to fight to fight amongst ourselves. Remember people it is contract time. So let the games continue.

hot time? thats a new one on me. remember when we had a rule that jobs could only be changed 90 days after a launch??i dont remember if we gave that up in the last contract or the concessions but that is the real reason why they are constantly fucking with jobs now. because they can. to fight and blame each other over supposed reasons why is to show your own ignorance. they do it because a majority voted to allow them to.

It was the 120 day letter. And it went out under Suttons watch, when the union got suckered into the team concept MOA. Now they can rebalance whenever they want. Just remember that, when LAP goes back to work after a complete retool, and they are STILL under a traditional work agreement. Thanks for nothing

120 day letter is one on the main reasons I'm returning to LAP. It's phuking nice to cruise for 2/3 of a year on your boring ass repetitive job without having to look over your shoulder, that and senority dosen't mean squat when there are no bids! In the words of Eric Cartman, "screw you guys, I'm going home."

It may have been120 days, I don't remember for sure, but we gave it up when we went from moa to coa. It wasn't that long ago. You lap people who just came recently never saw the moa. It was way better than what we have now.

If I'm not mistaken it is not something that we gave up it that a have a engineering change(launch) almost every 3 months. As for everyone that returns to LAP I hope it goes well for you. And not to sound mean but it will a lot nicer around here because the bitching will go with you.

I'm sure with everything being all shiney and new at LAP, they will have a new 3 letter work agreement that will SUCK just as much as the others.
