This writer has NO clue...if they think line supervisors are making only $45,000 a year, they are most definitely smoking crack. LMAO This is the type of shit that has the general public jealous and hating for the last 50+ yrs.

This has been the case forever. The general public pretty much hates us. They will not be happy until we are making 15 dollars per hour with no benefits. Reports like this are just written to cater to that hatred.

The author commented how she arrived at her numbers:
"I should elaborate on the comparison of pay for hourly workers vs. their factory supervisors. My point is that total wages and benefits for hourly workers at Ford in 2010 cost the company an average of about $10,000 more than the “all-in” cost of the average supervisor. While the base pay for most factory workers is about $60,000, when you add in overtime paid in 2010, plus the value of health care and other benefits, the cost to the company is much, much higher. Salaried employees have different overtime pay rules, and they pay more of their health care costs, so the value of their total package hasn’t escalated as much as that of hourly workers."
