???Which jobs are next to go the way of the cleanup jobs? There are people checking (inspecting/auditing) trucks on the Teamster's pad.The Union said since this is the other side of the 400 gate nothing can be done about it. What they wont say is why are they going in pre-delivery and getting a Ford scanner to scan each one they check into the Ford computer system. Ford employees use to do this. They even get in them and drive them. The Teamsters were told by someone higher up from Ford that they could do that. Does Ford control the other side of the 400 gate or not. Sounds like more Ford and Union double talk to me!

And while I am asking questions the Union won't answer, why are'nt dayshift and nightshift treated the same? Dayshift went 7.7 and took there break on the end. Nightshift went 8 and had to take their break. Nightshift always goes longer than dayshift even though they put more trucks through the 400 gate. Or are we not all in the same Union?

The same happens in body!! We have to stay until all our racks are full (double cross, green racks for floor pans, and the overhead)!! B-crew and c-crew get to leave early but we NEVER do!

I don't think we will see it in our lifetime at FORD, but I wouldn't be surprised if all jobs would be contracted out or outsourced. I watched "Robocop" several weeks ago and in the movie the city of Detroit contracted out Detroit's police force to a company and, of course, the company then developed "Robocop" to replace them. Now before you laughed, what I'm saying is that "Joe's Employment Agency" will build FORD cars. In the movie, also, the whole point was to save companies labor problems and money. Oh, and most importantly, keeping the board members and major stock holders happy. That was in the movie, too.

Why not let them Pretty much all inspectors work on trucks from what i see so I guess they got someone else to start inspecting for them (They can do that) Union will work on the issue but you will never get a straight answer. Company will do what they want when they want. We need to keep everything within there own classification, but you will never see it here.

Rocketman, you never know, maybe in our lifetime. Most people don't realize all the parking meters in Chicago were long term leased (75+ years) to a consortium that included the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, from the United Arab Emirates.
There are others: A toll highway in Indiana. The Chicago Skyway. A stretch of highway in Florida. Parking meters in Nashville, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, and other cities. The Arizona Capital buildings have been sold off with a lease back, all to foreign governments wealth funds.
America is quite literally for sale to the very people most of us distrust, sovereign wealth funds like the Qatar Investment Authority, the Libyan Investment Authority, Saudi Arabia's SAMA Foreign Holdings, and the UAE's Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. This is all created with oil money.
So, greedy mutherphukers, and Ford Corp. falls in this category, will cut us as soon as possible!

So B-crew got bitch slapped again this Saturday. Went 9 hours Friday (day shift went 8.3) Was told by management (WW) this was so we could go 7 on Saturday. Day shift did 7.7 and broke on the end Saturday. Well B-crew went 8 and did not get to break on the end. Someone is a boldfaced liar! Beware that the contract will be full of lies too! We needed more paper for the restrooms anyway. The Union has no balls because management has the Union's balls in their pocket! You would think someone in the Union management would know the definition of discrimination or they would do something about the different treatment between shifts! Oh, I forgot they have no balls. Maybe the EEOC could do something.

You crack me up. You run your mouth about hours and fairness? Get over yourself and stop slinging snot all over this blog. If you were not such a lazy bastard, you'd be talking shit about the more hours you work, the more money you make... As far as the 400 gate goes, yes they have the right and the obligation to inspect and check in those vehicles. Once those trucks cross the line, they own them. Missing or damaged vehicles are their responsibility. So grow up, act your age and brag about what you're spending all that extra money on...

I've always been that one of the big reasons day shift goes home early more than nights is because of poor quality on dayshift. They don't want the nightshift quality repair people to be bogged down with bad vehicles made by dayshift.. LOL!!

Am I missing something? When was it managements job to make sure we made quality trucks? I'm all about "hot time'...leaving with break on the end etc. But when I'm at work, I do the best I can with what I've got (equipment) which btw sucks. You people better wake up and build quality trucks and forget this excuse of...well he didn't tell me to do that...People, don't start BEFORE your start time, but when you do start do a good quality job!!!

Stop your crying,,,, be glad you have a job! things could always be worse...and there are bad eggs in the group on nights and days when it comes to quality, i work in quality and i have seen it all on both shifts and have had attitudes about "that aint my job or in my job description" something as simple as moving a vacuum hose out of the way before you shoot the bolt was to much for one guy, didnt matter that it shows up in warranty and cost 40.00 to do a 5 minute repair, when a simple 3 tenths of a second of his time would of saved this.

No Dear, sorry. If you review my posts, you will find that I'm giving others hell for their Cry Baby attitudes. Any deleted posts might have just cut too deep. I really find most of this humorous. I mean, who of us is out in the real world struggling on minimum wage? Or will we have any sympathy for a new hire trying to make it on 15 an hour? I think not.
The sad and simple fact is, we are a bunch of spoiled ass rotten UAW workers who don't make enough money, don't have good enough benefits, who may or may not have to work 3 tenths more than the other shift. A bunch of children who point at each other an cry because we don't have a cookie too...
Really? You must agree on some level?
