A writer for Automotive News wrote an article saying that if Ford gave their 41,000 workers a 4% raise right now it could cost the company $95.5 Million. And that is LESS money than the$98 Million dollars. How much of a bonus did Ford give Alan Mulally and Bill ford.I think it was that much or little bit more.

And a very large signing bonus will cost hundreds of millions of dollors. The raise would be cheaper for them and better for us. Everybody wins.

How much of a raise are you talking about? A 15,000 dollar signing bonus....which seems to be the number everyone is rumoring...not saying that it is. But, for the sake of argument. It would cost Ford well over 600 million to pay that out.

A raise is not cheaper cause if you work overtime that means your hourly rate is even higher. We will see no raise but a huge bonus!

It would be nice to see a raise, but it's not going to happen. Cheaper to give a bonus over the long run.

Well if they dont want to give us a raise, and want to put the grievance(7k-30k) in with our signing bonus, then I feel we need around a 30K+ signing bonus, and alot of our stuff back. If a big signing bonus, and nothing back, the number needs to be around 50k.
If not, NO vote.
15k IS NOT ENOUGH!

Everyone needs to be realistic. They are not going to give us a raise and I would be shocked if they give us a $15K signing bonus. I see maybe $10K with COLA back and a couple of 3% bonuses instead of raises. Don't have the $15K already spent or you will be sorry.

As someone said on here earlier, nowhere but on this site have I even seen 15K mentioned. It will never happen, and IF we get cola or anything else back the signing bonus will be substantially less than 10k. Just my opinion. I still say no cola, no raise...no vote regardless of the bonus.

Do you people remember where you work at? This is my guess, 3,000 sign on bonus...1% raise the last 2 years of the contract, with the other 2% (each year) going to the new hires!!

The rumored signing bonus with Chrysler/Gm is suppose to be $8000....the article goes on to say that they will have to push that up for Ford so I think 10-12k is the range. Raises will not happen...they will pump the bs profit sharing formula up and prob charge us more for healthcare. If we get the C.O.L.A. back with the high signing bonus I think this thing has a chance to be ratified...but without a guarenteed raise thru C.O.L.A....no chance in my opinion.

Because I know where I work this is my guess: NO RAISE will be offered the first year, the 2nd thru the 4th year 1% raise. NO COLA the first year. COLA given from the 2nd year thru the 4th year! A combination signing bonus/ grievance settlement of $5,000! ( $2,500 each) HOWEVER, between the first and second year of the new contract FORD WILL HAVE CONCESSIONS! ALL raises and cola will be FROZEN! At that same time we'll be asked to repay the majority of the signing bonus/ grievance settlement.

Sure would be nice to roll some signing bonus into TESPHE to avoid the 'bonus' rate on taxes...

I don't need a raise per say, but I do think COLA is a necessity with the economic fluctuations we experience. I also need an "up" in my Xmas bonus, which will have to be reinstated, and I also need a transparent reformation of the Profit Sharing bonus equation. The extra day for Easter would be pretty nice as well.
Oh yeah, Sign-On Bonus....five figures y'all!
Other than this, I can get my expenses in line with my wage and flourish quite nicely in KY.
