I'm sure it's only because they have sat. scheduled. Wait till next Monday it will go back down. I'm sure they are playing games with the numbers till after contract. Rumor on the floor this morning was they had a stock pile for 100 days already...so go figure!!! But does that really surprise anybody? ?

They put out a letter a couple weeks ago saying that they are at 100 day supply for Super Duty. SUV's were even worse. Why would they stock pile? They know the UAW will not strike. I keep hearing these rumors and I get a good laugh at them.

With the history of our employer's inability to ever make the common sense move...plan on a down week after working Saturdays before the end of the year. With inventory over 100 days, it is almost inevitable...

Stockpiling because of the contract problems. They are preparing for a long one.........nothing more - nothing less in my opinion. With Ford asking for more than they can pass with the membership, it is a solid business move.

Look at it this way... We work the days now and after a contract I'd ratified, we will get COLA back, a large signing bonus and a week off! Works for me! That way I'll have some time to spend a little money!

I believe Ford is just boosting 3rd quarter earnings to keep up their momentum.

exactly how does building trucks you cant sell boost earnings?
there are already rebates and financing deals on them. these trucks will end up heavily discounted in a few months.

The factory inventory and dealer inventory are two seperate things. Figures can be represented many different ways. The 2011 Super Duty has had special financing rates for over a month already. As Calvin pointed out the market investors have to be kept happy above all else.

Units produced are counted as sold units..... regardless of incentives placed on units, often Ford has made commitments with vendors for X amount of parts based on their forecast sales, so regardless they are going to produce the units. They'll blend the number of units they produce between 3 & 4 quarter and may lower part orders for 1st quarter depending on business cycle projections .... Early projections were this was going to be a stronger year than it may have turned out to be
