And it looks like 10% of profit sharing goes to fund veba, although it doesn't say they will be taking from us, but it doesnt say either way.
I think we are gonna get less than we would have got using the old way( if ford motor credit was in there). Just easier to figure up. Just my opinion.

Dave, you should run for the president of the UAW. I kind of agree with some of the profit sharing going to VEBA, just as long as it there when I retire. I know some people will disagree. I know I would just go out and blow it something I really don't need. You just might have to get a smaller boat, cut a bit on your drugs and beer. I wish we could, though, put in TESPHE or our own retirement plans that are separate from Ford.

Ask the folks at Caterpillar and Detroit Diesel how that worked out for them. Both VEBAs went bankrupt. Ive seen my dads health care costs jump from the second the VEBA kicked in. Im not counting on it being solvent for more than 6 years.

Dave7293, I think the company and the union tagteam our asses. The bad part is, we pay the union to screw us over.

You don`t know me so don`t imply that I need a boat or do drugs...(I do drink beer) before you talk smack about someone maybe you should get to know them first. I work C-crew body shop. Drive fork#112B. Lets talk about it.

It's all in their 20 page highlights for all to comprehend...but as many already pointed out...this company used the fed govt and tax payers to avoid bankruptcy...this prolly a decent deal for them IMHO.

So using GM's new profit share formula...what would this year's check have looked like? Was Ford's net profit used for profit share $6.6 billion? If so, our check would have been $6500 if you worked 1850 hours...correct? If so, way better than the bullshit they wanted to give us.

Was that all North America profit? So we got 5k(with or without ford credit?) * .55(45%) = 2750 6.5k * .45(55%veba's 10%)= 2925 bring home So 1,500 more and only bring home $175 ?
Maybe the 10% dont come out of each check but off the top? Try 6500 * .9 (10%)= 5850 * .55(45%) =3217.50 1500 more bringing home $467.50 more?
Maybe I am not figuring right?

I agree Scott, GM was in terrible shape. All of the workers losses won't be gained back in one shot.

What keeps burning in the back of my mind is the statement that Bill King made about not letting Ford be in a competitive disadvantage with GM.

If profit sharing is capped I will vote no.

We would never get that much anyway in the next 4 years.

Ford making over $10 billion net profit in the next 4 years is not impossible...I expect nearly that almost each of the four years.

the way I read it,profit sharing is capped at $12000,I can live with that Why can you live with that? Why should it be capped. If the crooks dont want to give us raises then we should be entitled to a portion of every dollar made and there should be no cap.

The company is expecting really big profits for the foreseeable future. They want to cap the profit sharing to keep us away from our fair share. With the cap and several accounting tricks, we will get very little. It is corporate greed.

the way I read it,profit sharing is capped at $12000,I can live with that It is capped at both ends. The most hours that can count in any given year is 1850hrs...so if you are on a 5 day week 10hr day you won`t get credit for profit sharing after 37 weeks. And if you work just 40hrs a week you stop at 46 weeks. That is a cap in hours. Screw that.

OMG!! What will the people do that are on medical!! (they really need to invent a sarcasm button on this laptop) ha haha. Maybe then the people that take their 89 days off to do their other job and come back the 90th day will stay....ha haha

Yeah, but only needing 1850 hours helps the dead beats...while encouraging others to not show up. If our profit sharing is gonna be capped...how about capping the bonuses for all the big shots...say $10 million?

How much profit would it take to equal 12000 in profit sharing for us?

Hell I will take a cap of $12,000.00 if and only if they give us stock options as well.
