"Active employees who have voluntarily transferred to a permanent job opportunity within the same zone TERMINATE their seniority to all other facilities. Employees who transfer to a permanent job opportunity outside of their current zone will maintain their Basic Unit so long as they do not take the enhanced relocation moving allowance." (RTBU pages 190C, 097A)
This will apply to all LAP - KTP employees that transferred to the opposite facility.

So they are making these changes retroactive? If I did something for a reason that shouldn't be taken from me years later!

uh....so what does this mean?...i went to ktp and already signed up to go back to lap.... You will be fine.. They are targeting the double dippers.. I suppose this was wanted by the union and may be linked to the dislike of it by other members once so many had this. I say ok going forward but not to change the rules up anytime. These decisions were made based on the whole situation and can never truly be erased..

Uh, no. I read this correctly and it targets RTBU's, not double dippers.

I was told today the union said there were no changes to RTBU in U-Trim. This post gave everyone a page number and quote from there so they may go and read it for themselves. We even posted the entire proposal here. Please take no ones word on changes. Please read for yourself. Understand the material so you may formulate questions. Then ask them to the union for clarification. Then look at the material along with your answers to form your own opinions.
I am only doing this to bring the changes to light. There are many changes........

IT does not affect you guys whom are already here. This is for future transfers. You guys still have RTBU rights to LAP if you are laid off.

I appreciate you answering questions sir. However, the last modification that passed - the IUAW told LAP "this does not apply to you" and "you will rotate two shifts until you go down to retool".
Ford interprets language differently than expected by the IUAW. Pardon our skepticism, because the last time we were told "it does not apply to you" - we lost a shift and watched many, many families be destroyed.
I see nothing on page 190C that keeps Ford from making this retroactive to all employees sir.

So when I transfer, voluntarily, in-zone to LAP on Jan. 2, per Fords request, I will give up my trade seniority if somewhere down the road I need to return to KTP? Am I correctly reading this? How does this help Fords costs exactly?

It does nothing for their costs...they are attempting to limit movement is my best guess.

They can hire right off the street and eliminate costs associated with surveying employees to move. Keeping lists, etc. does have an associated costs to personnel. Also, this union kept the list until this contract. Now it is labor affairs if ratified..........page 97A on the bottom.
They don't get rid of RTBU in this contract, just your seniority.......

How does this help Fords costs exactly? You will give up plant seniority on Jan. 2... read down a bit, it states that you should be notified before you leave the plant. You should be asked to sign another acceptance letter under the new rules. This may be a way to get out of leaving if you choose. p 190C Read the subject line though. Return to Basic Unit - Appendix O Administrative Guidelines. Not sure if this will change the actual Appendix O language.

Yes I read that also Bo. My beef is with KTP management that has chosen to keep me there as long as possible, I should already be at LAP with other trades that have been transferred. I'm going to speak with Bobner this week, I don't believe they will transfer me before the vote, and it probably won't matter any way.
