Can anyone explain to me the difference between Temporary Full Time and Second Tier?
Is Temporary Full Time what KTP is hiring?
I took my physical the other day so I think I'm getting close to getting in, but the word "temporary" has me a little freaked out. I also had to sign a paper that said anytime I might work would not count toward any seniority. I've got a decent job now and hate to give it up to find out I'm unemployed in a few months.

They could keep you as a temporary worker FOREVER. They used to have 89dayers. They had to pay union dues, but were not in the union. This place will screw you over in a heartbeat and the union will look the other way. I would not quit a steady job to work at this place. JMO!!!

Long term supplemental is what they are calling you...but it could lead to a true full-time 2nd tier position. I try my best to not advise anyone to take a job at Ford...especially at 2nd tier wages and benefits. I would apply at Magna before I took a job at Ford right now. They're hiring and paying about $23 an hour to start.

They will no longer be LTS if the contract passes. They will be second teir and be making almost $20 at end of contract.
You need to judge by the job you have now wheater you should come. The money is and always has been the only reason to work here. I would not have left my previous job for the current pay rate, but the world is alot different know. I never put an application in at a place and not gotten hired but that isn't the way it is today.

Shepherdsville or Lebanon Junction area I believe...they moved a big operation here to support LAP. They had an article in the CJ recently talking about they were hiring even more than they originally thought to supply seats (I think) to LAP.

So will the paper they made me sign about time worked not counting toward seniority just go away? Scott- thanks for the heads up about Magna. I'll look into it!

Yes...if we ratify this contract, and you get hired, you will be 2nd tier...with all time counting towards your seniority.

Sorry but I don't think you get hired as 2nd tier if this contract gets ratified. I didn't see that in there, but I did see that they would convert some of the LTS to 2nd tier(at these locations CAP, KCAP, LEP, TCAP, Denver,NY,Sacramento HCC page 253(003C)) So I would think that they still will hire people as TPTs or LTS and to answer your original Question.... TPT is temporary part time -- working 2 days a week(with chance to work weekends) LTS is long term supplemental -- working 40 hours a week(with chance to work weekends). There are also differences in benefits which will change some if new contract if ratified.

READ EVERY LAST WORD OF ANYTHING YOU SIGN, BRO!!!!!!!!![/quote Let me start off by saying...you should always read every last word of anything you sign, however signed contracts can be changed anytime Ford sees necessary. At ford it doesn't matter if you have an agreement! Ford will take it away from you and just give the benefit or bonuses to management!
