Seems our bargaining committee was touring the chassis line yesterday telling a few of my friends that the grievance is pretty much a dog and pony show. One stated, "I hope people are not expecting much with the grievance. We will be lucky to get anything; I am pretty sure we will get very little, if anything." I wonder why they aren't telling the membership this in the form of a letter...prior to voting? LMAO I would expect that after ratification, they will inform us that we have no case in the grievance. There's a reason the grievance was put off until Nov. 17-18...the reason is we have no case. And many more people would be voting no if they knew the grievance was gonna provide us with nothing. Could you imagine if the grievance announcement was today and we voted tomorrow? LOL

This was my thought from the beginning. But, with the contract not giving us a damn thing and in fact it takes more from us. I am 100% positive we are fucked.

We did not lose the grievance. We agreed to get rid of everything in this contract that is in the grievance - big difference. Every item is marked out and signed by all parties including the "Equity of Sacrifice" clause.
They will tell you it is based on prior contractual language. But if you ratify a contract getting rid of it all mutually, even if you win - you get nothing.
Why is the IUAW working so hard to deceive us? It is because it has turned into a corporation with the VEBA. The IUAW now has to answer to a board of directors for the VEBA.(They are partial owners of GM and Chrysler mind you) So - I guess the active hourly has no one looking after their interests now.

So if we vote this contract in, we lose the chance of settling the grievance? If this is the case, then why is several of the committeepeople telling people that it was all just a dog and pony show? Why is the IUAW trying so hard to try and sell us this contract? Settles sopposedly came to this plant to try and find out what is own our minds about this contract, low and behold nothing he was ever told made it to the contract. That was a dog and pony show there.

I thought the hearing with the arbitrator was Sept 15th and that we were waiting his ruling?
