Just out of curiosity, if you negotiate my total compensation package DOWN to a level that is "competitive" with all of the "Transplant" Autoworkers, what exactly is going to be their motive to choose you to represent them?
Seriously, if their compensation package is already equal to what you can offer, what point would there be for them to choose to be represented by the IUAW?

I think the key to understanding this is that they do not seem to be trying to convince the transplant hourly workers. They are trying to convince the companies it would be good for them. Can you say company union?

No doubt their saying look Toyoda, Nissan, look how we can get and keep wages low, and if you have a bad year we can get you concessions. UAW couldn't sell it to the workers so there going to show management what they can do for them.

Just curious, why is it we never see the finacial report each month from the IUAW? I think it is time to hold them accountable for our money.

.....Because they do not want you to see the political contributions that came out of the $60 million of the strike fund that was supposed to fund unionizing the south.(They have to pay back the gov. for the additional funding that kept the retirees safe at GM and Chrysler through the bankruptcy - not to mention the partial ownwership of the two now) More smoke and mirrors....Not to mention the $25 million out of the strike fund to cover the IUAW's operating budget until 2013.( Forgive me, but isn't that when Obamacare kicks in?) One would have to wonder if Gettelfinger set up the VEBA to last only until national healthcare was established. He was the cheerleader for it.
..But look at the bright side, Black Lake is off the market!!
